Thanks! The circuit is about 5 minutes from the nearest motorway so not far away at all. We stopped off for a few drive bys and videos with V10 sound bouncing of the stands! Quite eerie place, but vey cool to go there. Good straight run too with round abouts at each end.If we drive down next year, I might get a proper map.

A brief but sad history:
B8 S4 (manual) - best car I've ever owned. In a fit of madness I traded it in for a...
B8.5 S4 (paddle shift) - no manual option, thought the paddles would be ok... they weren't so after 4 months...
M135i (manual) - great engine, missed the 4WD so...
Golf R (manual) - hmm - not sure yet! Fast but finding the ride very firm + build quality iffy (rattles!)
What I really want is a new manual S4 (no such thing ) but maybe a manual TTRS next or maybe stick with the Golf and sort the niggles
