Not sure where to put this but here seemed the nearest place. I need to get rid of my Land Rover Disco as it is old, uncomfortable and heavy on fuel.
I was thinking of a Skoda Octavia TDi Estate, possibly a 4X4. I need an estate and somthing big enough to tow my trailer and race car (approx 1300kg)
Has anyone got any experieince with newer Skodas, good or bad?

Friend of mine has a vRS, he loves it. Fairly reliable, like any other VAG product inside. Good value.

Alas you can't get a TDi 4x4 Octavia in RHD. The 4x4 has the 1.8T engine. Check out www.briskoda.net

The new ocatevia estate will have a 4x4 tdi next year. Roumour has it that it'll only be the 1.9 105bhp engine though, which is a shame as the 2.0 140 bhp could really use 4wd.

I am up to my 4th Skoda now.

Started with Octavia 1.9 TDi (115) Est 33k in 9 mths
Went on to VRs 46k in 12 months
Decided I needed an Estate so went for the 1.9TDi 130 6 speed model 51k in 13 mths.

After an op on my knee I have moved to a Supurb 2.5 TDi Triptronic. 4k in 2 months

All the above cars are excellent and in all the time I have owned them have proved reliable and fault free.

Just re-badged Audis/VWs
