2013 audi a6 (c7) isn't working :-(
Discussion
So my old boy went and bought a 2.0 tdi 177, used approved 10k.
Now its around 20k (lots of trips up and down to Scotland from london, so only really used on motorways).
Anyway for first 9k he was happy with his super featherweight right foot at averaging 53mpg! But times have changed and is struggling to hit 41mpg (I know cos I'm with him now and he keeps checking the trip).
Anyway other symptoms include taking forever to heat up and, when getting off motorway, engine temp going down to almost 70.
Heater gets hot when you set it to 24degrees, then slowly starts blowing cold.
So question is, what is the problem? Proving there is an issue to audi is proving to be a bit difficult (as the technician told me old man, 'engine temperature can change as it goes through lower temperature valleys').
Any comments welcomed.

You'll get a little bit of variation in economy with air temperature but that's definitely not right.
It sounds like the issue is simple enough to demonstrate so request a drive with technician in the car. If one dealer is unhelpful or not willing to be shown the problem visit another.
The service departments love their satisfaction surveys so (theoretically) will want to help if someone else cannot.

thanks for the replies, I will get them to come along with me to see how it goes. it tends to be lot worse in very cold weather, but even still, spending over £20k on a car for there to be engine issues, I should have just bought a 1997 Volvo 940 2.3LPT Celebration, the heated seats are warmer in that too!
Not a happy bunny at the moment. That A6 has been in over 4 times now for varying issue.
mod note: no naming and shaming please
