Audi R8 air con
Discussion
Hi
During a spirited drive on a hot day on the German Autobahns the R8 very quickly lost all its A/C gas,
There's no evidence of stone damage or oil leakage from the condensers.
Does this system have a relief valve that may have opened? The cars in Italy at the moment so a recharge if this is the case would be doable but not a strip down to replace faulty components.
Any info much appreciated
Thank you

Hi Freddie,
Defo try the pressure switch first.
Is accessible by removing the passenger side (UK cars) headlight.
Takes about 10 mins, dead easy.
Loads of info on R8talk.com.
FYI I tried re gassing prior to replacing the switch to no success.
I then got it on the diagnosis machine and it reported a failed pressure switch.
When I got to it, the housing was split. Audi have subsequently upgraded this part. (old one is white, new one is black).
Good luck
