whats the club?
Just a FB group. R8 Owners Club UK. We post up potential get togethers at various events, together with cars/items R8 related for sale.

Mine's the 2nd one along next to the silver one in that photo - that's your car isn't it and I think I got talking to you later in the day?
Hi Reece

Yes mate we did talk when I arrived mid morning and I was the last R8 to turn up. I did the Sharnbrook Supercar Sunday last weekend and there where about 10 R8's on show … I think there was another supercar event on the same weekend.

Let me know if there are anymore planned R8 drive outs and meet etc in the future

Yes, I was at the Blenheim Palace Supercar and Classic show on the same day.

For events, best bet is to join the Facebook R8 owners club as mentioned earlier on this thread.

Alternatively, I meet up with a group of fellow PH members although that's more local to the southern region.

Had this to bimble round Cornwall a couple of months ago:

Perfect weather and being a couple of weeks before the summer holiday we had virtually empty roads too.

Bought my RS5 at the start of the year, due to my close to 60 mile round trip for work every day it spends Monday - Friday in the garage, I do wonder if its worth keeping, this feeling usually goes instantly as soon as I fire it up at the weekend though

Great idea, I'll waver the diesel company car and fuel card and do a tank and half of premium unleaded a week

yes absolutely do that. I was doing 110 mile round trip in the S8 and it was great.

It begs the question as to why the fk you took out a lease car when you have a company car of course. A decision that makes no sense at all.

1200 Torque and 750 BHP, tuned by MRC in Banbury. And it's going up for sale soon! In case anyone wonders about the colour, it's not stock, it was wrapped in a slight blue flake which really pops in the sunshine.
That looks fantastic.
I'm currently hunting for a RS6 (but not one with 750BHP!) but struggling to find the right spec/colour combination so was considering buying one with the right spec and wrapping it - could you share who did your and what the ballpark costs are - PM if you prefer.

Why "the fk" do you think I leased it? That assumption definitely makes no sense at all

Fair point. The amount of people that took out leases on S5/RS5 at that time it seemed a fair assumption to me. Still if you can afford the car (they are clearly not cheap) then surely you can afford to drive it to work. Life is too short. The amount it will cost you in depreciation will far outweigh the fuel costs, and saving the fuel means not driving the car. Can you not cease the fuel card and save the tax on that, even if you can't hand back the co car?
