Not quite the same but I get a rattle from what seems like the drivers side suspension strut when going over speed bumps.
Not annoying enough to bother to take it to the dealership tho.
Might be similar. Its going in for its first service next week so I'll ask them to investigate. Don't hear it at all unless the windows are down. Not annoying enough to bother to take it to the dealership tho.

My oil service is due in 10 days according to the display and constant reminders, yet the inspection in another 250 days or so. Spoke to the dealers and was told me to bring it in, if the oil is clean, they will reset the service interval to match up the inspection date. Hoping this is the case so I save the 179 and give the car back without servicing. On the LL plan so they should both coincide?
Tyres down to approx 3mm after 8000 miles on the front, do you have to put the same conti 5’s back on or any decent set would suffice? Not replacing back as they still have plenty of life in them to see me through to the end. What’s the minimum tyre grip the Bvrla rules allow btw?
Swap the tyres front to back - you might get away with it..... At least I got to 13,000 before my fronts were at 3mm. I bought one new one (£145 online through KwikFit) and had the spare put on the other. So the spare is now 3mm, fronts are new and rears are around 5mm. Have another car on order due for delivery March so should see me through until I return the Alltrack.Tyres down to approx 3mm after 8000 miles on the front, do you have to put the same conti 5’s back on or any decent set would suffice? Just been to dealers to sort out why my oil change is needed in 9 days yet the inspection in 200 days
In short, supplying dealer cocked up by placing the oil service on a fixed interval plan and the inspection on LL , they should have both been on LL
Anyway, a quick whip into the workshop and car returned with the 1st oil service now needed in 9000 miles / 365 days n 1st inspection in 20k miles / 730 days. Result as I won’t be the one servicing. Glad they cocked up initially , didn’t even check the oil lol .
Thanks for the heads up on utilising the spare, will do that and order 1 tyre.
Saw a boggo urano Passat estate there, looked so boring and bland!

I'd be gobsmacked if that's possible. Flexible servicing monitors the oil condition and probably other things too (no one seems to fully understand how these things work) and it's decided that it needs the oil changed.Just had my first service, £159 from VW Paisley, quite impressed actually.
The rattle from what I thought was the suspension turned out to be something in one tyre.. so strange. It wasn't a stone, I thought it might have been, but it was like a small carbon build up, a little ball. It was rattling at low speed only of course as once going quicker it just stuck to the wheel.
Anyways, fair play to them for finding it, needle in a haystack. Glad its done, good price and washed etc too, thumbs up from me. I think I'm at 18,000 miles for this service so shouldn't need anymore before going back in May.

People must be getting close now to request an extension to the 2 year lease.
Hoping to see what people's quotes come in at, I'll have to wait until after Xmas as mine goes back in June. If they can offer on same terms it'll be tempting if only as a default option given lack of other suitable deals around. I will get the numbers in a weeks time and then deceide. Ideally I'd like to extend for another 12 months. I have no idea if they will extend at same price, if not will have to go and look for another estate. That said I haven't had a service on it yet, and says doesn't need one for 159 days or 2,800 miles which would take me to a smudge under 20k miles and a month early. So could give it back a month early and avoid service if can't get a good renewal deal !

Wonder which branch of BCA the Passats will end up at?
They usually offer them internally first via closed auctions to the dealer network, then it's only the cars which don't sell or are below-standard which end up at public BCA VWFS auctions. Could be anywhere in the country! Soton Thunder said:
Somebody on the HotUKDeals thread says they have had a quote back from VWFS for year 3 and it goes from £129 to £341 per month! Looks like a lot of Alltracks will be going to auction over the next 6 months or so!
You extend for 3 months at the same rate if you want a bit more cheap motoring, bigfish said:

Exactly what I’m doing.Mine will need a service a month befoe it goes back. Currently says 193 days or 5700 miles oil, 7100 service.
Had a quote from VWFS for returning early, and it works out £49 for every month I send back early.
So, it’s going back 1-2 months early at a cost of £98 max to save the service at £300, net saving £202

Last weekend I went up to my mate's garage and used one of his lifts to swap the wheels back to front - hopefully that should easily get me to March when I plan to hand it back a couple of months early, depending on what the service screen says.
I've just gone over the 10k miles which means I am now paying for each of those miles. I can cope with 7.2ppm though.
If my plan works out it has been a couple of years of very cheap, hassle free motoring - I have a curb on one of the wheels - I may swap on the brand new spare alloy, but that may look strange with one tyre being brand new, unless I pay the local tyre fitter to swap the rubber over....might not be worth the hassle.
Not sure what I will do next - I am supposed to take a company car with my current job when the Passat goes back, but would rather go back to running older cars worth about £1k.

Have you accounted for the cost of another car for those 1-2 months, or do you already have a spare car?
I will be leasing another car on a good deal hopefully.I won’t be paying the monthly rental for existing car, so the new cars monthly rental will replace that cost.
The only ‘extra’ cost is the early return fees.
