Actual airbag warning fault is displayed.
Can't be battery as it gets used every day so not really sure.
I just want to make sure I won't need to keep paying for it when it's stuck in a VW car park waiting to get repaired.
Ah I see. I remember seeing the airbag light a few months after getting mine & thinking something was wrong. Turned out it always came on for a bit, just hadn’t noticed!!

With regard the gearbox fault, I would play it straight down the line & ask VWFS what they want you to so about a fault under warranty? Fix or leave? Put the ball in their court.

At the end of the day the BCA guy will pick it up anyway. One of their checks is to look for error codes / lights, and they take a picture of the dash when engine started smile

Yeh I imagine they will want it fixed first. It won't make as much with a fault at auction regardless of warranty or not.

Hey Guys & girls, my Alltrack (Urano grey 190/DSG) goes back to VW (well BCA) on the 28th of June.
But I’ve had an offer to buy. Anyone interested?
I’ve already got a Superb on order if I knew I would have got such a competitive offer price I might have bought the Passat and kept it another year, & I also could have saved a few quid at the start by picking a lower mileage term too! You live & learn I guess!
Local dealer (Inverness) has offered me £19k so I’d probably be willing to travel to Glasgow or Edinburgh if anyone was interested at the £20k mark. It has 24,000 miles, and a year left on the warranty/ 2 recent tyres & FVWSH. I have all the paperwork from BCA to say I can sell it to a friend or family member. Can supply any other info on request.

Impressed you managed to get a competitive price from VW to buy - my quote to buy was higher and I've got over 30k on the clock.
Does the price VWFS quote to sell just depend on which way the wind is blowing?

I suspect it's a bit echoey in here because most have offloaded their unloved Alltracks back to VW/ BCA.

I may be in a party of one, and the last remaining Alltracker. Am just in the process of extending my lease for another year, having found nothing as competitively priced to replace it with (at 15k miles/ yr). Had a fairly good offer in the end to purchase outright, but ended up with a reasonable quote on the lease extension, so may as well continue as is, for minimal capital outlay. At the end of the day it's a good, economical, family carryall (yes it has its flaws, I know).

What did they offer you for your 12 month extension.
I'm currently waiting for a quote.

Ended up around £165 p/m. It's a DSG 190bhp and I'm on 15k per year. It will take full lease term to 39 months, so I'll need to MOT it next June unless we hand back early. Gives more breathing space as I haven't found anything else that fits the bill.

The absence of any other compelling deals, the fact we need a car that size, the four wheel drive is handy and it just generally fits into our lives very easily, despite the drive train annoyances, were the deciding factors. Plus we may well buy it when price has dropped further on expiry of the lease.
It seems I'm in a fan club of one with this cargetmecoat

I've still got mine extended for three months but due back on 06/09. Enquired about extending in May and got quoted £292 for 12 months. Asked again this month and was quoted £265 for 6 months - had it been sub £200 I would have probably taken it up. Totla mileage to date 12k

Just thought I'd revisit this for old times!

I miss my Alltrack, often have a mooch on AT to see if it's still for sale.

Even though it was dirt cheap for two years, I don't miss mine. The drivetrain was just too indecisive. DSG should stand for Dumb Slow Gearbox.

Still got mine! Bought it after extending lease and now it’s on 60k miles. Good family bus/ dog car/ carry all. Boot catch on the blink though...

How financially astute have you found leasing then purchasing?

There are four 2016 Alltracks in Urano grey registered for sale on autotrader, between £15k and £19k. What an insane lease deal that was in 2016. I wonder whether we will see anything like it again. 3+23 at £129.99 as I recall with tax thrown in.

I would hazard monthly depreciation on these soon to be 7 year old cars is going to be more than the original lease was new.
