Why are you expecting the sound quality to be better?
Bluetooth impacts sound quality. Less loss via android auto. Probably negligible as it's a standard sound system in the Alltrack but time will tell. Emeye said:
If you plug you iphone in via the lead and select USB as the Media source it plays the music from your iPhone via the lead, so you can get the same quality without CarPlay. I guess the same for Android Auto. You can switch between the Bluetooth audio and USB and the phone function still works via Bluetooth.
Oh I've not tried that, thanks I'll give it a go later! Currently sat in the VW garage and they're making a right lash up of this. Getting the feeling they haven't ordered the code for app connect.Oldboydelly said:

Which dealer are you at?I've been having a bit of fun trying to stream music from my iPhone via both Bluetooth audio and he lead since it was replaced last week as the screen went nuts. I think it might have sorted itself out last night, but Inwas having to start the music from the phone before I could control it on the car screen.

Carr's VW near Newquay. They did lash it up buy the servicing manager was very apologetic. I tried to use a USB lead but I'm android using Spotify so no joy there. Just filled it up for the second time. First full tank did 645 miles and took 66 litres back to brim... giving 44.5mpg across the tank.
BTW it's a 66 litre tank! The range o metre had indeed just dropped to zero but I kind of presumed there would be some leeway like all my recent BMWs... there isn't. Be warned!

Does anyone know what servicing schedule our Alltracks are on?
According to mine going via the info screen, mine is on a 365 day service schedule and recommends an oil change after 8k miles and inspection service after 16k miles.Jobbo said:
My ex's lease Golf told her to have a service at 12 months; she took it to the dealer and they said she should be on long-life intervals. It's set per car so I'd ask the dealer to reset to long life as soon as possible.
I was going to say that - the cars come set for long-life servicing by default and for lease customers they should be left like that. For retail customers they change to fixed annual, which for VW is an annoyingly relatively short 10K miles (or 12 months).Dealer forgot to change our Tiguan and it said 600 and something days to service. But it's on a VW service plan and a condition of that is it's serviced annually. I expect a row when we take it in. Or they'll say they serviced it but do nothing.
I called VW customer services and they said the longlife service is typically for motorway miles not for the kind of mileage I would be doing (6-7k per year). He advised that I was on the correct plan although if I took it in to VW they would change it for me.
Seems a no brainer as I'd only need to pay for 1 service rather than 2?
