Indicators just single bulbs too? (Ie not led strip)
Yup. Checked this morning. The rear ones are faux LED strips, very thin but standard bulbs in there. Just noticed this morning that as well as having the big indicators under the wing mirrors there's a tiny square facing the driver that also shows the indicator light flashing. I have very little idea what the practical purpose of a 1cm squared indicator light is to anyone though!

I didn't realise until I checked the official price list this morning, but you don't get app-net as standard on these. I have a feeling it could be enabled with just a dealer tweak, but it's not available on the menu, just says that you need it enabling by a dealer. Car-net works fine though - just a pain to have to remember to turn on the mobile phone hotspot. The car can also generate its own mobile hotspot. Presumably this would be of use if anyone was using one of those UMTS USB sticks as a mobile data connection, as otherwise people would just use the mobile hotspot that the car is using to access the internet!

Teenagers are happy with their own 12v socket and air con controls in the back though :-)

Think I e seen at lease 3 different types of headlights. Bog standard normal ones, ones with and led strip which works as drl & indicator, and then fancy led ones with led strip and "u" shaped led strip round led headlights that act as drl / indicator.

Thanks for confirming though

I got a personalised spec brochure through from the dealer and it lists all the standard options that you would get if you ordered one today.

It also gives you some you official VolksWagen tube links which help describe what the actual feature is.

For example, that little square on the indicator that Ray refers to is also the Home safe lights.

The 'coming home' and 'leaving home' functions are designed to improve your convenience and comfort. Basically, those little squares light up the ground as you enter/depart the car.

Sorry for such a long post but there is a lot of info there. Most of it will be duplicated with what is already on the online configuration tool but there are a few bits and bobs that aren't on the website. One thing is for sure, its a lot of car for the money!

There are two lights on the mirrors - the puddle lights that point downwards that you can't see, and then a small square which is the back of the indicator so you can see that you're indicating, presumably when looking at the mirror and about to change lanes.

Just got my build week confirmed on VW Tracker as week commencing 18/4/16. Maybe this will actually happen! Is it usually about 4 weeks from that date that delivery can be expected or a bit longer?

I also have a build week of 18th April. 1 week earlier than the initial estimation!

ps. Yesterday I had a taxi ride in a Passat estate DSG diesel (not Alltrack) on a German Autobahn @ 160kph.
I can confirm it's very refined and spacious as a passenger, but it's as long as a barge.

Early annoyance (maybe because I'm driving like Miss Daisy) is that it seems to rumble along in a higher gear than necessary, leading to sudden drop downs and jolts into a lower gear when accelerating (not at warp speed either). Have found that the easy way to compensate for this is to spot the required acceleration point coming up just ahead and prematurely using the left paddle to drop down a gear to get the revs up a bit for the acceleration.

Feels very much like it's happy to sit at 1200rpm or so in 5th gear when at around 30mph, which leads to grumpiness when putting the foot down coming out of the village!

I drive a CC 170 DSG currently and it's similar. With the gearbox in normal mode, it upshifts very early and holds onto higher gears when cruising. Consequently, if you want to make progress, it drops one or two gears quite abruptly. Conversely, when I drive it in S mode, it hangs onto the gears for far too long. I think it is down to the software being programmed for MPG and emissions. If you Google around, it is a similar situation for other VW DSG owners.

Spoke to CVL today and not happy with them at all. Told I got a communication on the 15th (Mar) and would have to wait another month for more information. I clarified the 15th was merely my invoice and not much communication. They are sourcing the cars through CC Auto (I think). Going to call Keith as waiting a month for an order number delivery week is very poor. Is that quite normal as this is my first time leasing.
