I said the car was telling me it was due in 2400 miles - and it was on variable servicing. Got told by all places I called that the service would be 'oil change and inspection'. Quite pleased with £179 - cheap as chips.
I hope I get a decent quote when I contact them for upping the mileage - 7.2ppm would be a bit of a bind!
I've just had an "oil service due in 1000 miles" message. I presume these services have to be main dealer jobs or I'll get penalised for invalidating the warranty or something?I hope I get a decent quote when I contact them for upping the mileage - 7.2ppm would be a bit of a bind!
I've been waiting for 5 days for VW fleet to quote me for mileage change... still nothing.
what would happen if you reset the service reminder info.

Yes! Does it all the time....
I have a Golf R but AFAIK it has the same parking sensor system.... The sensors are active all the time so if you get close enough to an object that you are 'in range' of, the park assist system will kick in. I often find this happening in the queue at drive-throughs.Also, if something is obscuring one of the parking sensors it can trigger a false alarm ... such as snow/ice sticking to the surface of the sensors or sometimes water drops settling on the sensors after using the jet wash.

I tried using ACC in queuing traffic during heavy snowfall and the car went nuts! Dumbo question, but does car tell you via warnings when needs a service
Anyone planning on trying to extend lease period yet ?
Don't know for sure, but imagine it does - most cars do these days.Anyone planning on trying to extend lease period yet ?
I checked mine manually through the menu system. My car is now 12months old and done ~16k. It's showing 2.5k until the next service.
If I can extend at broadly the same rate I think I will. But the car's not so good as to be worth the standard rate today's customer would have to pay.
T'as been rate quiet in 'er as of late.
Tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary with my Alltrack, and pretty much a boring uneventful experience. It does long motorway runs well and is horrible to drive around town, which is where I do all my driving.
I have only done 8k miles this year, I'm hoping I can stick to the same this year or less as the drivetrain is so frustrating I'd rather drive my wife's old Volvo XC90. It got me wondering if the dreadful DSG and diesel combination came about as this was one of the first models release just after diesel gate kicked off, and the implementation of Adblue and removing the cheatware was rushed - just a thought.... under bonnet it looks like a plumber's wet dream, not an engine.
Hopefully 16k miles in two years will avoid me having to replace any tyres, especially at an average speed of 21mph. I doubt I will avoid a service.
To celebrate tomorrow, we are going on a long round trip dawn sawf for work.
This next year can not come and go quickly enough, though having such a cheap, reliable and large vehicle for another year, despite all my misgivings, may be a blessing. We have another new arrival due very soon and so the baby doesn't have to sleep under the stairs Harry Potter style, we have a big extension to build - the Alltrack may have a lot of work to do.

Hello
A year of ownership here and just coming up to 9k miles. Another year left, and i think i'll be handing it back.
Goes ok and cheap fee per month so cant complain, comfortable and most of the toys i'd look for, but poor MPG, 25 year old auto gear box (so it seems!) and the addition of AdBlue every 5/6 months is all a bit negative for me.
As I say, i dont mind it, it does the job, but i'll be ready to hand it back.

You can't NOT hand it back! What were you hoping to do as an alternative? Extend the lease? If you got it on the cheap deal, you've got no chance.A year of ownership here and just coming up to 9k miles. Another year left, and i think i'll be handing it back.

On another note, mine is in to the garage today for oil service ("minor") at 18750 miles (14 months). Tyres front are close to limit (I knew this) but rears are on 5/5/5 still! Nearly 20K on one set of tyres is bloody impressive I think. I think I'll swap out one of the fronts for the spare in the boot so it's still legal, then buy one new matching tyre to go on the front and that will see me right to the end of the lease and leave a legal spare wheel still.

Totally didn't work for me. If I leave it in adaptive cruise in a motorway queue it will cut out even stationary then not start again when the traffic starts moving.
Marvellous!
Marvellous!
Yes that is a bit pants. Try turning auto hold off, this helps - I did read the manual on this bit (still not read anything else) - and you can now start the car moving again by double tapping the res button or tapping the throttle - not perfect but sort of workable. No idea why the car can't crawl in traffic.
Had mine just I've a year now and covered about 6k miles. A very uneventful car to drive and not suited to town driving at all. That said it offers good space for the family.
What are people doing RE the service? Doubt mine was programmed for an annual service as that period has passed so assume it'll be a service next year before it goes back? Curious if people are serving it annually regardless??

I has some strange noises coming from the engine during the hot weather over the last few days - it sounded poorly after being restarted after a long motorway blast, but seemed OK today - anyone else experienced this?
The other evening I had a play with the head unit settings and found a screen that told me exactly when the service was due in miles and days.
I would tell you how to find it, but I can't remember now!

Has anyone successfully undertaken a map update on the Discover Pro?
My late 2015 Passat R-Line does not know about the revised M6/A14 road layout or the revised road layout on the A556/M56.
My cheapie handheld Garmin knows about these changes, but all attempts to download updates via the VW "Discovercare" software give me errors when downloading the full listed update, or the UK only gives an "update not found" when the SD card is stuck in the car.
Anyone successfully updated their maps? If so, how and what is the current version number?
The out of date map is bugging me far more than it should
