I'm feeling rather left out, given my order went in on Thursday afternoon frown

I do have another car to use for now anyway, but just want the shiny new one.

I did just do another chat and they confirmed I'm definitely down for week 24 and couldn't offer any reasons as to why some were over a month ahead/behind others..........

It's pot luck on build weeks I'm afraid.

I'm down as week 19 but don't need it until late July - dealer is aware........

There is a revision in the build for MY2017 coming in at BW22 so I wouldn't be too upset. The revisions are minor but you should get additional gauges on the infotainment unit.

Would that explain the heavy discounting then? fill the factory with MY2016 orders?

Is this deal addressing the lack of business that the finance company are getting, or the inability of sales staff to return calls from potential customers do you think?

I was looking to buy, but got no response from three local VW dealerships. Their Audi branches were queuing up to take me for S3, TT, and RS3 test drives, but VW - no response.

I bought something significantly less practical...

If I like the car I may try and buy it at the end of the lease. Apparently the auction house (BCA) will try and flog it to the leasee in the first instance as that saves them a lot of money/hassle taking it to auction. If the PCP GMFV are anything to go by for 24 months/20k miles, may be able to buy for ~£18k. What a steal that'd be!
18k?

2 Year old ones are currently circa 25k.

The allocation of build week is purely down to the supplying dealer and the "slots" they have available to put the R orders into.

I'm at BW19, and I'd rather be back at BW22 as that would tie in better with the return of my current lease, so I may have to ask for delivery to be delayed if it turns up in the expected timeframe.

My dealer told me at there were no "allocated dealer slots" - but rather they had to call up for an allocation for each order, which is one of the reasons it all got a bit hectic last week. On the Thursday dealers were batching their orders, by Friday they were calling them through individually... (As I understand it)

Which would explain why I don't have an order number yet even though I ordered Thursday morning.

I wondered if they had done something like this.

Is there a factory option to get body coloured door mirrors instead of silver? Mine will be parked on the street and I don't want to be twitching the curtains every 5 mins! Went for black in the end...if I ever get the buildi number through.

Prefer my cars to be low key (as they can be) so have requested de-badging as well. It's worked so far for my 130i.....

I also requested full de-badge... slightly worried about the mirrors as there have been some stolen locally. Once idea I was mulling over was buying a can of black liquid wrap and just spraying them, then peeling off the black at the end of lease. Probably take about 30 mins and I can undo it easily.

I don't actually like the silver...

Having never gone through a new car ordering process before, is everything set in stone as soon as ordered or can you make amends before it actually gets to the build date?

I considered de-badging but concluded it's a bit pointless with 4 exhausts, R specific wheels, brakes and seats rather giving the game away.

they're just covers, you can buy copy parts painted for £40 a side and very simple to fit

So £80. Or £6 on a spray can of liquid wrap...?
