Be careful if you folks decide or plan to remap your Mk7 or Mk7.5 Golf Rs. Failure rates for the turbos are now approaching 5-10% for stage 1, 2 and 3 remaps. That is an extremely high failure rate. So, tread carefully, and do yer research.
I really can't see why you'd need or want to remap one of these, ample power as standard! And maybe slightly harsh but if you're dumb enough to remap a lease car you deserve to get slapped with a big bill. But in the real world, some people will go ahead regardless and remap their leased or purchased Rs. For just ~£500, these things will do 0-60 in ~4 seconds, while ~3 seconds can be done for £2000-4000. That is very tempting for some folks, because it is supercar speed for lemonade money. Those kind of folks need to be aware that R turbos are blowing left, right and centre and there is currently a 5-10% chance they will go pop. Hopefully, this post saves someone some cash or a blown turbo before they go rushing headlong into any old remap.

1. Plenty of power - this is pistonheads man!2. What's the difference between mapping a lease car and mapping a PCP / "bought" car? Either way you map it, take the risk, the take the map off before you return / sell the car.
I've really not played with it. Picked it up last night about 5pm was out having a curry by 6pm.
had a 10 mile drive home. new dash is nice compared to the old one, and the gearbox is definitely better. changes seem quicker, and the pull in 2nd is awesome, the old one was great but this is that much better again.

Interesting, would like to see more pics of the dashboard looking like a great bump up from the pre-facelift golf.had a 10 mile drive home. new dash is nice compared to the old one, and the gearbox is definitely better. changes seem quicker, and the pull in 2nd is awesome, the old one was great but this is that much better again.

Where is that deal Macca? I am very interested and looking for a deal myself!
I managed to get mine through Motorline VW at Gatwick, they matched an offer I found on the main leasing thread. Best thing to do is call one of the VW dealers and ask to speak to fleet sales and ask them about the current offer on the R estate then take it from there. When you get the quote back, send them some of the deals that are floating around on here (i.e. mine) and they should match it.http://www.uchoosecontracts.co.uk/volkswagen_golf_...
