Both the same wheel I presume (new one not on 19s)? That's pretty bad, my 15 reg ones have had a pothole or two and been fine

Incredible time for what is basically an everyday car for commuting or the Tesco run.

Is new Golf R widely available for test drives at dealerships? I was thinking about checking it out so I can jump on a deal when good one comes up.

Not around here (Surrey/Hants border).

Not in Wales. 2 dealers sad they won't be having any and would I like to just test a gttdi and one said it's another month until one is in the showroom, to view only, not drive.

Piss poor isn't it.

I guess I could test pre-FL, haven't driven one. Will contact VW Gatwick tomorrow to check what they have.

Depends where you're located. Most of the dealers round me - Surrey - will be getting their demo R's in end of April - mid May.

I got response from Gatwick that they have demo car. I'm surprised someone replied to email at 19.30. Will book a test drive in next few days.

Gatwick VW is where I am sourcing my FL Golf R from. Good service so far. I was driving into Horsham on the weekend and I saw a FL R being driven round the back of Horsham VW so they have one as well now.

Got my build date week commencing 8th May.

Hoping I get the car before I go away on the 12th June - think its going to be very tight! I'm sure it will want a nice run through part of france!

I got the same build week as well, seems like they will all be coming over on the same transporter :-)

What's everyone's sweet spot for a Golf R hatch? I've been offered a 5dr hatch for £352 a month (amortised) over 3 years / 8k miles. Seems reasonable if not startling

There is no support on Golf R hatches this quarter, to get a decent deal you will have to wait and see what happens at the beginning of Quarter 3 July.

You will need to be quick as the estates all went in a 24 hour period. You need to be on the general leasing thread on Monday morning the 3rd of July or you may miss out.

Could be the right time for me.

Are there any ideas of what they will be available for?

It was on a 9 + 35 payment model but averages out at £352 a month over the 3 years
