You can turn it off completely but this requires a trip to the dealer or a tool like VCDS, ODB11 or Carista. It's very easy to do yourself if you have the tools.
You can also just unplug the device, its under the bonnet at the back. Lots of example videos on youtube (search for soundaktor) -- no tools or software requiredPaul2k12 said:
Hi,
In the market for a Golf R, leasing looks to be the best option.
I’ve contacted a few dealers and going to phone tomorrow for further details but what’s regarded as the best deal at present.
I’d be after a 5dr Golf R DSG over 3 years fully maintained. Looking to swap my current car in September.
I’ve been quoted prices of approx £320/month and that’s 9+35 fully maintained 8k per year. Is it possible to get this under £300?
Thanks!
The awesome deals that were flying around a year or so ago are long gone unfortunately. I picked up mine at the end of Jan @ £311/mo fully maintained on 9+24 8k, the only option was metallic. In the market for a Golf R, leasing looks to be the best option.

That said, I still think it's a lot of car for the money and I've been very pleased with mine. I think I'm going to end up going over my mileage, I've put about 1800 miles on it in the last 10 weeks. Not too concerned, the excess is about 12ppm so even a couple of thousand miles over is still only a couple of hundred quid. I'd put the next one on 10k though.

Yep, you can do that too but not sure if you have to remove any weather sealing parts. I would say ODB11 is good value for money if you have one of these cars, it lets you make a few small changes and check for codes should anything go wrong.Funk said:

I proceeded with the order today with a different company. I was happy with the figures and after test driving the car on Sunday I was very impressed.
Golf R 5dr 7.5 DSG
White
3yrs 10,000 mileage 9+35
Fully maintained £310.00, coming early September, they advised the car is in stock but due to my current car arrangement (NHS Lease) I'm penalised for sending it back early.
This is all through Select Car Leasing - seamless and very helpful.

I normally don't like white as a rule but I saw an R in white the other week and it looks great with the contrasting gloss black highlights. Great choice, you'll love it I'm sure!Golf R 5dr 7.5 DSG

I paid £234 to secure the order. Initial payment will be due around November. Would highly recommend Luke Brown on ?0118 920 5130?. They have them in stock at the moment if your after one quickly!
Thanks....I tried them a couple of weeks ago but they couldn't help price-wise so I ordered elsewhere My white R estate has just gone off with the BCA man
Great car, will be missed.
It was in great condition, ran it in as per the book, and only driven hard after a good warm up (anti lease norm ) No wheel damage or paintwork 'dinks' and only about 5 stone chips on the front - my M135i was littered with them!
If anyone picks it up at auction or from a dealer, KS16HCD is a cracking car!
Oh and try not to pay anymore than £22500, that's what VWFS offered it to me at.

Our white R estate is going back in October. No dings, but the alloys certainly aren't scratch free. Starting to think about the replacement vehicle now...
So much to choose from, hard work narrowing the list! I didn't line up a replacement, wife and daughter have a car each and I mostly use the train to work - going to wait for one of the 'crazy deals' I think, so could end up in a SUV or a 2 seater

Central UK Vehicle leasing have some great deals on the Abarth 124 Spider...
I also have a white R estate which was going back in June. I asked VWFS to quote for a one year extension and to my surprise it has come back £32pm cheaper than my amortised price of £269pm.
So if you're due to give one back and struggling with a replacement like myself, then its well worth asking..
