Just for info for any who may be in a similar position: I currently have an R estate on one of the July 2016 deals (registered October 2016) - £1500 + £215/pm

Car is currently on 23k miles.

Quoted £22k to buy from VWFS which seems high.

Options are return car next month, informal 3 month extension on current terms, or 6m formal extension at £229/month for total mileage of 30k or 12m formal extension at £292/month for total mileage of 36k.

What have others been offered?

In the absence of any other comparable deals, thinking 6m extension is the way to go.

My 66 plate 5dr Metallic due back in December. Via Alphabet 3+23 @270. I asked for a quote on 12 month extension and got £360pm on same terms. They must want it back?!

Hello All

I’m looking for a Golf R 5dr DSG lease deal over 24 months, 10K Mileage and around 2k deposit.

Currently the best deals around seem to £355-£360 per month, bog standard spec with solid white paint.

Just wanted to see what offers people have had in the past to gauge whether this is good value or if there are better deals to have if I wait a little longer?

Thanks
Joel

Looks about right tbh. I'd also look at 8k miles and see what you can get the excess down to - might be cheaper than paying for 10k/yr out of the gate?

Thanks, and that’s a good shout will certainly look into that.

Slightly off track but my daughter has just leased a gti and it was cheaper to go 8k and pay the excess to 10k if needed than opting for 10k initially.

I have an R DSG 5 Door on 24 month lease on a May 2018 plate, 10K PA. Bog standard spec (which is perfect)..... but I have black paint. The figures you quote are more than I'm paying.

The problem is deals don't hang around long - a quick look on Leasing.com for example shows that his figures are about right. No doubt some shopping around and haggling could be done (especially if it's a stock car and they want to get it rented...).

I'm on a 24 month, Jan 67-plate, metallic paint and 8k/yr - I pay £311 inc VAT fully maintained. The maintenance worked out at £7/month and I figured a set of tyres and a service will come to way more than that so it was a no-brainer.

That's a good deal for the R. I went for non-maintained, they then called me after I'd taken delivery & offered me 'maintained' for an additional 7.00 per month, which I took. I'll cover 20K in 24 months so a no brainer also. The deals do differ as you say, however the big boys such as Leaseplan / Arval aren't on there.

Incidentally, I've just taken delivery a couple of weeks ago of a Golf GTD (standard car) white, 5 door manual for my wife.......... what an excellent package it is. 58MPG & quite impressive peformance in comparisn to similar cars.

I've currently got a Golf R on lease 6+23 that is due up in January.

Currently paying £314 p/m, and asked for a quote for a 12 month extension.

They have come back with £407 p/m !!!!

This seems crazy to me bearing in mind I will have paid the full cost of the optional extras over the initial 2 years, and the depreciation on the car should be slowing down now.

Obviously the car is now going back to them in January.

Just interested to know, has anybody had a worse offer than this ??

Interestingly mine is through Arval, the broker was Kew Vehicle leasing. Forgot to mention it's a 9+23 by the way; excess is 12ppm and I'll probably be a bit over the 16k (18-19k so around £350 extra). It'll need a service, tyres and a set of wipers during its time with me so the maintenance will save me more than the excess mileage anyway.

Still makes me chuckle, it's great fun!

Synergy Automotive.

They currently have GTI PP on a reasonable offer at the mo.

Fixed spec.

5Dr manuals i think.

Not a lot more than she is paying for her standard GTi.

Hatch or estate? The estates were cheaper than the hatches (by an amount that isn't worth getting a hatch IMO) last time I looked a few weeks ago

Ideally want a hatch as i prefer the look and size. As i'm not in a rush i may hang on a little longer and see what deals may pop up towards the end of the year into 2019.

When did you take yours out? That's a much better rate on the excess - possibly because you're on a higher mileage to start with?

Also check your paperwork carefully as Arval quoted ex-VAT (10ppm) on one document and inc-VAT (12ppm) on the other, there was also an uplift of a couple of pence/mile on the excess thanks to the maintenance element. Out of interest what are you paying a month for yours on 10k?

Well my mileage has started to increase such that I am going to do 25k pa. So will be quite some mileage fee at the end. Still at 9p a mile it’s cheaper than getting another car.

Got it May 2018. No idea why the PPM is 5ppm. I'll dig out the doc & confirm. on 3+23, 10K PA I'm paying 347.00. Fully maintained. The black paint added aronund 6 or 8.00 per month I presume. At the time (in May) I did get a quote from Leaseplan who were 20ppm!!! and about £1.50 pm cheaper.

Rates change as you say. With me if I'm going to go over I don't care at 5ppm.
