Lupo/Arosa 1.4 Sport
Discussion
Hi
Thinking about alternatives to a classic mini or Pug 106 in the up to 1400cc road going class in hillclimbs and wondering about the Lupo/Arosa 1.4 Sport with 100bhp according to manufacturers figures.
These seem particularly cheap second hand and reasonable power output as standard.
There seems to be a variety of engines though, how do I recognise the 100bhp sport one and ensure it hasn't been swopped for a lesser engine?
The Lupo seems to be about 100kg heavier than the Arosa, why?
cheers Guys

The two most common engine codes in the Lupo/Arosa 16v 100hp models are AFH & AFK
the lower 75 hp models are AHW, AXP, AKQ, APE, AUA, BCA, BBY, BKY
For competition purposes, if you were feeling very sneeky and wanted an advantage, the 1.6 pistons/rods from the Polo/Lupo GTI AVY engine can be installed into your 1.4 block.............
