Quite annoying that you can't fully disable the ESC / traction control. Does anyone else find it makes a really loud banging noise when it kicks in? First time it happened I thought the drive shaft was broken!
You have to do it through the car setting on the screen, I tried launch control with it off the other day and lost most of my tread in a cloud of blue smoke so it definitely turns it off completely, its says Sport setting or Off then you have to reconfirm you are taking it off.I did try it on a trading estate and aborted soon after the car not moving and just wheel spinning

I think another way is to hold the ESC button down for 5 seconds or so - at least that's how it works in the Golf.I did try it on a trading estate and aborted soon after the car not moving and just wheel spinning

Not really. It's 8.3p/mile and not 7.2p/mile so even if I do 4000 miles over that's only 0.011*4000= £44.
A tank of fuel will be ~£60 and they normally send it quarter full. I'd say that balances the equation quite neatly...
Fair point. Well made.A tank of fuel will be ~£60 and they normally send it quarter full. I'd say that balances the equation quite neatly...

Firstly apologies for the off topic post, but does anyone who has already taken delivery of their Cupra know what the Seat recommended winter wheel / tyre size is (as per usual door sticker)?
Thanks,
I haven't got mine yet but the winter tyre size should be the same as the summer tyre size probably. They're 235/35R19. I've been pricing winter tyres myself and that is the size I put in to the online search on tyre websites. Hope this helps. Thanks,

When I went into DM Keith last week was told the maximum miles u can do is 10k per year, which also stated in the contract...
Really? Or do you mean can do up to 20k miles and then incur excess mileage charges?I won't be getting near 20k miles over the 2 year term but I know plenty who signed up to 5k and 10k pa terms and were planning to go over 20k miles. Really surprised if VWFS have imposed a maximum mileage allowance.

I don't think there is a cap in mileage until you hit 60k miles

Here's exactly what mine says:
Vehicle Mileage (see Term 10)
Maximum Annual Mileage: 5000 miles
Maximum Total Mileage: 10000 miles
Term 10 Mileage
10.1 You must make sure that the Vehicle does not cover more
than:
10.1.1 the Maximum Annual Mileage in each succeeding period of
12 months starting from the making of this Agreement;
and/or
10.1.2 the Maximum Total Mileage
10.2 When we ask, you must pay us the Excess Mileage Charge
shown on page 1 (plus VAT) for each mile covered by the
Vehicle in excess of the Maximum Annual Mileage or the Maximum
Total Mileage.

I did look at buying new 18" alloy wheels and winter tyres but the cost was ridiculous compared to winter tyres for the original wheels.

I think I'll be buying winter tyres to fit the really nice one wheels that come with the car. Personally I think it will spoil the look and maybe the handling if I were to put some smaller second hand wheels on.
You'll find it'll handle much better on a set of 17"s with some decent rubber and a larger sidewall. I would like to downsize the wheels for track days and run some used slicks if it's within budget.Sam_G said:
I don't think that is the correct reading of the contract... I assume they're all the same generic VWFS contracts but maybe not...

Cheers for that - looks fine then for anyone going above their mileage allowance. Here's exactly what mine says:

My bad

These cars were ordered in July. Why should a change in policy made in October matter at all?

Has anyone else been offered anything from CVL/DM KeithI don't think there is a cap in mileage until you hit 60k miles

I could do with knowing the PCD, centre bore, offset and width if possible. I've found some 5x112 17" for cheap enough, but not sure a 7.5" would be quite wide enough.
