The Cupra (Black) Lease thread
Discussion
Dammit, I have a puncture as well. It's a nail right through a tread block, so I don't think it will be a problem to have it repaired. However, I just realised I have no idea where the locking wheelnut key is - can anyone tell me where to look? (I presume we have locking wheelnuts, I didn't even check!)

Why do you want to change modes? just leave it in Cupra all the time?
As soon as you turn off the ignition, the car goes back to ECO mode. The fake sound stays on etc, but everything else goes back to eco setting. You need to have ignition on, change it to another mode, then back to Cupra to actually have it back to Cupra settings.AJB88 said:
Had mine 3 years and it has stayed in Cupra all the time.
Yeah, it stays in Cupra mode, but the engine goes back to ECO (but with the added fake noise). It's in the manual, it says when the ignition has been turned off, the engine reverts to eco mode in order to save fuel. The driver will have to select another mode, then Cupra again on re-start in order to have it in Cupra mode. You've been driving in ECO all this time AJB88 said:
Haha nope I haven't... when your running 420ps there isn't such a thing as Eco
It's not a reference to a power output change, it's the suspension, throttle response etc. And as far as I'm aware, there's no way to modify the ignition setting with vagcom. And being a kid, I like the burbles in cupra mode. Also, I'm a lease monkey so can't remap mine to the crazy figure you've got yours at

Question for those leasing (or anyone that knows)
Couple of weeks ago some scraped the cupra in a carpark while pulling out of the space next to me.
Pics attached...
Im just wondering what my options are here - will a smart-repair (chipsaway etc) be able to fix it? - or is it worth leaving and just accepting the fine when returning (I think the VWFS charge is £140ish for bumper damage although i cant remember where i saw the list of charges)

I know its not a reference to power, but can assure you my car stays in full Cupra mode full time without having to change it all. Have just checked this in the menu just for clarity. I don't think you're understanding my point. The menu WILL tell you you're in Cupra mode. But the car reverts to ECO mode when the ignition is turned off, then on again. Read it in the manual. Your car may show you're in Cupra (which mine does) but you're in ECO. As proven by the lack of pops and burbles in a standard car when you do this (yours may well do this as it's modified). Don't change the mode all you like, but I can assure you, as the cars manual will, you're in ECO.Directly from the manual:

I wonder if this applies to all of the modes including Comfort. Not that the difference in that case would be very obvious.Directly from the manual:

Yeah it does, in comfort I'm sure the engine is set to 'comfort' rather than ECO. Not entirely sure what the difference (if any) between these modes would be.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
