What is the fuel consumption like on these? A/B roads and dual carriageway on a 20 mile commute taking it easy?
I'm getting around 34-37 on average with a similar commuteThe mpg seemed to be better after a few thousand miles - initially it was high twenties.
For the power the car has I am very happy with the fuel economy.

Hey All,
Signed up to the Cupra 300 deal IMG Warrington are doing ATM - £250 deposit ( £180 admin ) and £250pm for 8k over 2 years.
Just wondering has anyone's lease finished on their 290 / black ( or any other SEAT of that matter ) and the car gone back ? if so had anyone tried the delayed servicing trick in order to not have to pay for the second service just before the car goes back ( stagger the first service by 3 weeks after its due then when it comes to the car's lease end at 2 years, hand it back without paying for the second service as its not technically due for "3 weeks" ) I've heard VWFS allow you to service the car up to a month after its due without penalty. Has this worked for anyone ?
Really looking forward to the car being delivered come October, had a Pug 208 GTI lease the other year and that was a brilliant little motor.
Thanks
Dan

Yes, I've done that before and it works fine - but there are a few factors that need to work in your favour.Signed up to the Cupra 300 deal IMG Warrington are doing ATM - £250 deposit ( £180 admin ) and £250pm for 8k over 2 years.

- car needs to be put on a long long life service (rather than fixed service). Majority of leased cars are put on the long life service.
- the car needs to have its PDI done as close as possible to delivery/collection. As soon as the car has its PDI, the service clock starts ticking.
- the mileage you do and how it's driven. Lots of short journeys means you're likely to get the oil service indicator coming on before the 2 year/18,000 miles mark. If you do longer journeys then you'll be fine.

Just over 9 months in and I have nearly reached my 10K allowance
I got mine through a broker who got the car from Affinity and my finance is through another company.
Who do I speak to about negotiating ether a new monthly amount or a better excess mileage price?
Cheers

Thank you.
It's my first lease so getting used to the terminology.
Hopefully get my Cupra 300 end of Oct beginning of November.
Any things I should do when I go to collect it from the seat dealer?
The only thing is to drive it off the forecourt like you stole it 😜 On a serious note, it's best not to nanny new cars to "break them in" wait until she's warmed up then use a range of revs, the worse thing to do is keep the engine at the same fixed low RPM for the beginning of its life as the piston rings don't bed in properly with the fully synthetic oil they use from the factory. This can cause the engine to use more oil than normal over its life. It's my first lease so getting used to the terminology.
Hopefully get my Cupra 300 end of Oct beginning of November.

I will be walking round the car and looking for any marks/dents etc. Checking the wheels for damage. All things that can happen in transit or whilst at the dealers.
All very helpful tips gents thank you.
I know I'm shooting the gun here but in terms of servicing etc would that have to be done through a seat dealership?
Is servicing set at a certain distance? E.g. 10,000 miles?
And secondly, if you feel that the mileage is inadequate do you have to ring the finance company to reorganise new monthly figures or would it be cheaper to just pay the excess at the end of the term or does it generally equate each other?

Glad to see more people jumping on the Cupra deals. I'm at 5k miles on mine and the exhaust has suddenly become seriously loud. Just as I noticed how loud it was in comfort, the OH turns and says "your car is really loud now." Very nice noise too. Pity they mask that with the fake fart-speaker that VAG love in the sport modes.
