The Cupra (Black) Lease thread

I'm also thinking of cancelling my order too. 3 weeks driving a v8 had made my mind up that I need to scratch that itch when back home.
What have you been driving? Picked up my Cupra yesterday and had a nice drive back from Manchester. The Cupra is an absolute beast! What I actually like the most is the car drives like a normal 5dr when you want it too and then give it some welly and the power is incredible. Having owned cars like the V6 370z and 3.0si Z4 the hard sporty drive gets a bit boring (and uncomfortable) at times on long drives so I'm welcoming the Cupras ability to be both a quick sporty car and then comfortable when needed.BopoWarls said:

Good to read stuff like this. Pick mine up on Saturday. Have a 4am start to catch a train so hoping the Cupra will wake me up a bit for the journey home. Gad-Westy said:
Anybody else opted for DSG? Never owned a DSG and I'm sure I'll figure it all out in my own time but any tips on using it optimally or is it utterly idiot proof? Last time I drove a DSG car was over 10 years ago.
Yep To be honest my commute to work is fun blasting B roads and at quiet times so this may not apply.
For the boring stuff I stick mine in comfort mode and auto, when it gets more fun I'm in Cupra mode and manual, the gearbox mode in Cupra is a bit daft, it holds on to gears for far too long when you're not 'on it' so it's useless for everyday driving.
I do like to override the auto in comfort to get overtakes done and then just hold onto a paddle to get it back into auto although it will do it by itself after about 5 secs.
Just try not to confuse the box, if changing down in manual, stay off the throttle as it expects an upshift, other than that it's perfect and oh so quick.
I'm loving it although the 19mpg isn't great.

Brill. Thank you, I'll have a play with these options. To be honest my commute to work is fun blasting B roads and at quiet times so this may not apply.

The other option is to put the engine in Cupra mode and keep the gearbox in normal. Just pull the dsg down and it will take it out of the stupid sport mode. That said, driving with the paddles is good fun on a B road.
For those who asked, I think the sound is fine and perfectly good enough for the football / golf podcasts I mainly listen to.

How's the OE stereo and speakers? Didn't bother ticking the Seat Sound option and hoping I won't regret it. Don't do many long journey's so figured I'd not need it.
SEAT sound was the only options I was adamant I'd get but some reason I decided against it and I currently don't regret it. OE Stereo is perfectly fine and kicks enough bass. Dan123collins said:
Ah possible ste, just had a really good look through the contract and it states colour as "white" ?? I ordered mystery blue and my order form says mystery blue in large letters. I'll give them a bell tomorrow to see if the car is actually white or just admin error. If it is white and the white looks okay I may accept it but they are gonna have to chuck in some free servicing or something as it's not a colour I would have picked at all.
A bunch of us got £250 in high street vouchers when they ran out of Dynamic Grey paint last year if you're looking for a yardstick.pavarotti1980 said:
Do you have access to the SEAT system by any chance? You could help a lot of PH'ers out with build dates hahaha
Their own dealer should be able to provide them with that information, not sure why it's not forthcoming? Think we've now sold our 6th car as a result of this thread. Indeed someone has just recently asked to proceed in the last 10 minutes.Edited by MrsFallon on Wednesday 27th September 16:18

My sister picks hers up Saturday as well, I was supposed to be taking her to collect it but I didn’t want to be left trailing in my 240BHP GTD lol no not really, ive gotta go into work Saturday morning, hope you enjoy the drive home, you’ll love DSG, my golf is & as has been said “sport” mode hold onto gears for too long but is good to use when you’re getting a move in, enjoy!!James-gbg1e said:
Can't email you mate. Try calling Seat Wolverhampton, ask for Scott and tell him James sent you. Otherwise Seat Chippenham was the other dealer I saw mentioned, but haven't spoke to them. There was a cancelled over 3 posts above yours, worth enquiring there too.
Thanks for the mention James To help everyone, I've just asked our Sales Manager and his latest system update shows all cars are factory order. There are 2 at other dealers but they are showing as Negotiated, which means they are linked to customers. At the moment cars can still be ordered on the available deal until the end of the month. We are expecting to see the Q4 deals on Monday/Tuesday and so we won't know until then if it's been extended, changed or withdrawn.

It was more a question with my tongue in my cheek. Dealer has been ok. Seat Customer Services have been helpful despite some thinking they were poorEdited by MrsFallon on Wednesday 27th September 16:18
