Picked it up today... Performs very nicely indeed! Very pleased.

If anybody is after one Scott Hunter @ Wolverhampton Seat can still source some stock cars, tell him James sent you over.
Saw your car there on Saturday James. Had to manouvre around it when leaving (I was careful!). Picked mine up first thing. Really enjoyed the drive home other than one particular brown pants moment. This hasn't happened to me before in 20 years of driving before but 20 miles after picking up first new car, I was hit by a pigeon at about 70 mph. Horrendous bang on the windscreen but luckily no lasting damage to the car. Can't say the same for underwear or pigeon.

Anyway, other than that, all good. Nice and refined for motorways but good turn of speed when the mood takes too. Weather has been awful up here all weekend though so traction at a serious premium.

Quick thicko question. I'm still in the days drive away insurance at present so just sorting out proper insurance on online comparison sites. For a lease car through Seat, who is the register keeper and legal owner?

I think the answer is generally no I'm afraid. I had been expecting it but dealer had emailed me during the week to say I couldn't have it on a lease. But I hadn't received email so I turned up with no insurance in place. Luckily dealer was able to arrange it for me.

IMG sent the little 5 day drive away insurance document over with my contract. It had the dealer number and their email on. All I had to do was call them up and give them the reg number, my details and the dealer info. Took about 5 minutes and it was all in place for when I collected mine, SEAT insurance then email the cover note to you 24 hours later and the dealer so it can be taxed too.

Does a standard 300 have wireless charging? I assume not as there is nothing to indicate the tray under the HVAC features that. But then I remember reading before I got my car that Leon's now have this. I just took a look on the Seat UK site. It talks about this in the 'technology' section but doesn't say whether it is optional or standard. If I try to configure a Cupra 300 5dr, it does not pop up as an option anywhere and I cannot see it featured in any of the option packs. I'm partly curious because my wife has a Leon on order. We may want to specify it on her's even if it's too late for mine.

Edited to add: Seat website is useless in clarifying this but having read a couple of forum posts, it seems it may be tied in with the keyless entry option. Seems a strange pairing.

Called up seat regarding cupra 300 ordered on 22/7 and have been advised all orders will be only be marked with confirmed dates 2 weeks before build, everything before that is un-confirmed. They are handing out un-official dates though and mine is week 5 2018.

If you already have a car on finance / other situation and the monster delays they are giving out will cause you grief you can get a case escalated by calling them up and asking for managerial escalation once they give you your un-official date (Your dealer will be involved apparently but unsure to what extent). That's all i was offered. Staff on the phone obviously have had to deal with this a decent amount so be nice to em.

I guess at least with a car that late I might see new standard fittings that are done after the christmas factory re-tooling.

Someone mentioned on here or maybe another thread that any changes would happen at week 22 so i wouldnt get too excited. I was hoping my delay may have meant possibility of virtual cockpit but i think i will be well into driving the car by the time that comes aorund.

My sister picked up her Cupra on Saturday & can you believe someone has keyed it already, you can’t have nothing decent these days, unbelievable.

Not good.

I ordered on 20 Sept and was advised delivery of late Jan, this seems highly unlikely at this stage.

Spoke with dealer today and he said that no build info could be provided, much as you alluded to above.

My 208 is due to go back late January so any slippage will cause real issues for me.

I got in touch with IMG today, having ordered on 1st September, and I have a provisional build date of week 8 2018. This is expected to come down. I was told Dec/Jan when I ordered. Also have SEAT sound which adds a 2-4 week delay according to seatcupra.net

Ouch.

Add an extra four weeks for delivery on top of that?

Where about's in the country are you? Parked where? That's absolutely moronic, hope she gets it sorted cheaply and she can still enjoy her car.

Seems like they give you 5 days to be precise. Lovely. I haven't called up the broker yet but will do in the next day or two. Should be going to collect mine on Saturday. Nice little brucey bonus that.

Most dealers charge that for 36 Months ime, also check you can definitely use it as some policies will not cover lease cars (they state car has to be registered to a private individual).

ETA - Also the repairs done are SMART repairs so whilst you have the benefit of smaller scratches etc being done whilst you have the car thus keeping it looking good, there is a possibility the repairs may be picked up on and still charged for come hand-back time.
