Is the Mpg on these really that bad? I was hoping for mid 30's
All relative to where and how you drive. You can get mid 30s but you won't be using much of the power of the car. Start nailing the throttle through the gears and you'll see mid 20s. I'm averaging 30mpg with mixed driving of family in car or just me on B roads.I drive mine like I stole it hence the 21mpg.
To get anything over 32mpg I have to drive like a saint, light throttle and definitely no flat out bursts.
Then again, I didn't choose a 300bhp car for that, I could have got the 1.4 FR for far less over the term if that was my concern.
I am lucky (unlucky for fuel consumption) that my commute is on fantastic B roads with plenty of overtaking opportunities and at non peak times so I get to exploit the car at will.
The big downside to this is that I've managed to take an awful lot of life out of the front tyres in 2 months/1800 miles, this weather is terrible for getting the power down. I'll measure front and rear tread depth tomorrow and report back the damage.

I've done 10k miles in the first 11 months, the last 5k of which has been with a JB1 fitted.
Commuting on A roads returns around 30mpg, approx. 300 miles before I have to fill up. Last tank had a lot of motorway miles and I got to 340 miles before having to fill up.
Overall a cracking car, and the JB1 makes it even better, resolving the slightly flat mid range and making it that bit more angry generally.
Would I have another? Maybe, if there isn't anything else out there that represents a great lease deal at the time. I just don't feel much love towards it, despite it being a great all-round car.
The ONE thing that gets me though.............no sideskirts as standard, I know you can add them as an option but really Seat what were you thinking.

Even at 14k per annum?
I have gone for it anyway - less than I'm currently paying for my M135i and with a much better spec. 14k has definitely pushed the cost up but I want to be able to drive the car without thinking too much about the mileage restrictionFactor in the metallic paint, Driver Assistance Pack and Winter Pack I have specified and I'm happy it stands comparison

The 1+23 price was based on 8k pa so yes actually it’s seems reasonable. Might be worth checking the excess mileage payment vs paying up front as it was certainly cheaper to take the lower miles option on my last lease than to pay up front. VWFS generally about 7p per mileMOBB said:

If you don’t mind me asking do you lease your car? What are the implications of using a JB1 type device? I’ve only ever seen people saying it’s a complete no no with lease and that the garage will report it to Seat at its service etc? Would be interested to hear your thoughts as it’s something I really want to do to get more out of the car but equally don’t want to do something that’s going to bite me in then bum.. My car has been built and is waiting for a ship to the UK.
Not a bad turn around from being unconfirmed a fortnight ago to now being built.
I think we must have the same delivery date. My build week was 20th Nov, sounds like it’ll be available just after Christmas. Not a bad turn around from being unconfirmed a fortnight ago to now being built.
Anybody else encountered this odd issue? Got in the car this morning and the clock is an hour fast. Scared the bejesus out of me as I thought I was running an hour late. I see it is set by the GPS system and it's reporting the correct time zone. Any ideas?

My car is fine. OH's Tiguan has this issue though. Seemed to sort itself after a few days.Gad-Westy said:
