The dealer sent me pictures of the red and it looked lovely.
Was going for it then the salesman decided he wanted an extra £12 month over what he quoted me !!
Not amused especially when he said if it didn’t sell today they were going to register it for themselves. Why register it when you have a buyer waiting, strange.

Have also found a white dsg, waiting for a quote.

If I got real life reports of the manual I would be tempted as the sales guy was genuine.
Our 290 is a manual, no issues at all with the gearshift, it operates with standard VAG efficiency. My OH uses it for the school run etc and she has no issues either.

How's everyone else been getting on with the slippy stuff? I'm pleasantly surprised myself. Best snow car I've had in years despite the silly wide tyres and abundance of torque.

Bit late to the party on this but considering the estate version as a replacement for my 330e as a fun family daily. Build dates are a bit of a concern though if orders are taking 6 months to materialise. The car itself seems to have decent spec as standard, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any around at local dealers to actually have a good look at. How have owners found the build quality, interior plastics etc, is it a comfortable place to be? I understand the fwd cars can struggle with getting the power down, is that the case in the real world conditions?

I was given an expected ready date of the end of april, and had a call from IMG yesterday telling me it's arrived! Going to pick it up on the 20th as my current lease goes back on the 19th, but I really want it now!

I don’t know what to do !

One dealer has told me that July is now only a possibility and that with the factory closing all or most or August it could well be September for delivery. That is far too long.

The red dsg I found they will not do the deal they first agreed to.
The white dsg I found will not match the offer prices elsewhere.
Another white dsg has too many options and they want £32k

That leaves the Grey manual, unless they have sold that while I have been deciding !

Bought the Monsoon Grey manual that is in stock. It has the digital cockpit.
Got it over a three year lease as I wanted a longer time to save again to pay a bigger deposit to keep my monthly payments down.
£1400 upfront and £249 month. No fees.
Works out much cheaper than img’s 3 year deal.

If anyone is interested Grimsby Seat has a standard white dsg car but appear to be not as competitive.

Bristol Street Darlington have a red dsg ( non digital ) They will do a deal but not as good as elsewhere.

Westgate Seat have a lovely high spec white dsg but want £32k !!

Stoneacre are getting a Blue manual in the next week or so. It will have the new dash.
Have deals but not as good as img.

There are cars around if you search but you need to push for a decent deal.

Leased or bought ? You can buy these new for around £26k I believe albeit with no options. Would be factory order though.

Glad you found one in stock, let us know how you found it. I'll be checking with the dealer to make sure July is realistic for mine, if September then will cancel, that is far too long.

My 4drive is a really nice drive and comfortable, though I did have a fiesta st before. Quality isn’t as good as Audi, but it is decent.

Cracking drive and I would recommend it.

Regarding build dates I spoke to several dealers while searching for stock cars.
Every one of them said that it would be late July for delivery and two or three did admit that cars ordered last year still did not have build dates allocated yet.
I was also told that cars ordered now may very well hit the factory closure at the end of July meaning delivery would be September at the earliest.
I was going to order a factory car at a great price from a non main dealer leasing company but after finding out it would be late July or even later I decided to go for the stock manual.
Hope I don’t regret not waiting for the dsg !

Just had my phone call confirming my build week; 15! 2 months earlier than they originally stated.

Slight issue however, it’s been ordered in the wrong colour. Black instead of Orange. It only got caught because I mentioned I’d seen people posting online about having the wrong colour car turn up and asked him to check.

He’s having to ring someone higher up to see if it can be amended. Really don’t want a black car, fell in love with the orange!

You would think that the car being several weeks away from being built should mean there is an opportunity to amend. Fingers crossed for you.

Just so we can understand the total lead time, when did you order and when was your order accepted by the factory?

I saw that a few customers on the seatcupra forum had options missing so have just dropped my dealer an email to double check my order has what I ordered, then I saw your post. Doesn’t inspire much confidence. Do you know if they just messed up the order so someone else may be allocated your orange one?

Thought I'd chip in here. Had a test of a Cupra 300 at the weekend and will be placing an order tomorrow. Dealer quoted a lead time of end of July which seems to match the 6 month wait time posted above.

The model I tested didn't have the digital dash but the brochure the dealer sent me definitely had it ticked as 'standard'. Excited to hear thoughts as I expect it really adds to the feel.

(Loved the car by the way, back to back with my aging Megane R26 it felt responsive, agile and a fair bit up on power).
Whatever you do, don't mention on the megane forum or Facebook page that the Cupra is better...you'll get lynched like I did and told that it's a dull handling, numb steering VAG st box of a car that isn't as fast or as good as you say it is.
Well I'd hope it would be better than a decade old Megane, not so sure its better than a 275 Trophy or Cup-S though.

It's been amended, but it pushed the build week back to week 18? Not sure how changing the colour on a car that isn't going to be built for 6 weeks can affect it that much, but at least it's going to be correct.

I ordered on the 27th of January, so it's about 5 months or so from order to collection for me.

Not sure what happened with the order, but it's now been amended and it pushed my build week back by 3 weeks for some reason.

I'm not sure how paint shops in these factories operate. I wonder if they run certain colours through in batches rather than constantly changing from one colour to another. Could explain it. Glad you're sorted one way or another though.

Tried out an St300 today, all be it the dsg version ( I’m considering the manual due to the good offers.) Nice place to sit, decent standard spec, practical for the two little ones and pretty quick! I like that fact it’s really understated, definitely a sleeper. Can’t see many people knowing what’s under the bonnet unless a real petrol head and that really appeals. Leads times are 20+ weeks but that isn’t an issue for me really. Will decide over the next day or two but not really much else out there for the price at the moment.
