Hi, i would be interested to know if your 2nd inspection service countdown is reset to 365 days after your 1st service or not, if you could update after Monday that would be great.
Will do smile
Just got the car back, it has been reset to 365 days from today along with the 2nd service to the same time frame.

Good stuff, thanks for the update. Will book mines in for 3-4 weeks after due date then, will mean the 2nd service won't be due until after I have returned it.

In other news my 290 BE goes back next week.

I had BCA come out this week and assess the car - as apparently you can no longer get an assessment and collection on the same day.

The guy inspected the car and presented me with an estimate of £333(ex vat) in charges which are as follows:

Wheel LHF Scratched Rim over 50mm Refurb Wheel 36.00
(fair play - bit gutted as this only occurred last sunday!)

Tyre RHF Condition Gouge Replace 187.29
(Something i hadnt noticed - but I am getting this tyre replaced myself for 130 - pothole damage)

Bumper front Scratched Multiple Areas 25mm to 50mm through top coat Refinish 110.40
(Carpark damage - i wouldnt be able to get this fixed for less)

There was a couple of little dings and stone chips that he spotted but said were acceptable.

I will miss the car - the amount of performance for the money was immense - although the cars ability and performance were far beyond my kahunas to fully take advantage of it on the public roads.

It is being replaced by two cars - a BMW 330e as the "daily" - And also an Abarth 124 Spider which hopefully arrives next week!.
How easy was it to get BCA in for an inspection as a first port of call, then sorting a collection date? I just assumed both could be done on the same day...

Once your close to the end of your agreement you can actually book it online and choose your appointments for both events.. (when the guy came to pick mine up yesterday, he did ask why it was a week between inspection and pickup.. so maybe it can be done close together)

Ours was inspected yesterday and collected today (frown). Bit sad to see it go but we needed something bigger. Booking the inspection/collection was a massive PITA as the online system would not bring up the details, took 3 weeks all in all.

I am trying to hand back mine early but I think Alphabet (finance house, leased through Wessex) are taking the P.

End of lease is Dec 12th. Car was leased on 9 + 23 deal of £209.23/mth. Payment for Oct 12th - Nov 12th was made on time (on Oct 12th) - this was the penultimate payment. Alphabet are saying that even if I hand the car back tomorrow then I need to pay the full month's lease (£209.23) for the period Nov 12th to Dec 12th. I was expecting to pay a reduced rental (half?) for that final period as I would no longer have the car.

Can anyone clarify what my situation is? Do I have to get legal on them - voluntary termination or something similar? TBH I don't want to drag this out for the sake of 50% of a month's lease. I just put a deposit on a C63 wagon and want to get my hands on that ASAP! evil

Many thanks
Adam

It's VWFS who have the 55% payment of remaining months, lots of other funders will charge you 100%. It's in the contract you signed, I don't know what Alphabets' policy is on early termination.

Unfortunately the situation is that if they won't budge on the 100% there is nothing you can do, you have signed a contract saying you will make all payments as stipulated and it is down to the finance company to decide whether they offer any reduction for early termination.

Thanks Nick, that aligns with the 5min of research I've just done. PCP or Contract Hire allows a Voluntary Termination which can be a cheap "out" in certain circumstances. Leasing doesn't have that legal protection so it's up to the funder to be "reasonable" . . .oh well, getting that big V8 a month early will make up for it!

£100 or so doesn't sound a horrendous amount to lose to be jumping in to a C63 a month earlier!

Plan A was to hand back one month early, drive my wife's Aygo automatic until spring, then buy C63/M5/similar once the snows were gone. A combination of the right car at the right price and a single day of commuting in the Aygo changed my mind biggrin

The Cupra has been great though, even the 450bhp AMG doesn't really feel *that* much quicker, and the twin-turbo M5 I tried (although clearly faster) didn't feel like warp-speed either. They are very capable cars in a very practical package, I will definitely miss all of the tech (especially Android Auto) but I am also ery excited about having a big V8 on the drive again.

Had my first service on Thursday and oil change just shy of 10000 miles. Thought it was on long life but wasn’t too fussed. All in all cost £114 at Seat Birmingham.

I was quoted £190 from Preston. How do the prices vary so much. Problem is next dealer is 15 miles away so may have to suck it up

Asked my dealer about healights and was told that the led light pattern is flat and no stickers are needed, something about it in the manual as well.

I took mine to Europe. The handbook states that the beam pattern is ok, no stickers needed. You will need a form from the lease co in place of the v5 which takes a few days to organise.

Mine just got collected. The guy noted a minor scrape on one wheel, about 30mm which he said would probably be zero charge. I am more concerned about the driver's seat. He said "it's been cut" and I was like "errrr, I don't think so!". I had a closer look and on the outside edge of the seat the white fake-leather fabric has split in two places. He agreed that it was worn through rather than cut, but still had to mark it as damaged.

The car is 23 months old with 13k miles on it, and the seat is worn out! Am I going to expected to pay something for this or will it become the manufacturers problem? I get in and out twice a day wearing a suit, it's not like I wear studded leather chaps to the office! Anyone else with a Black Edition noticed seat wear like this? What's the score with anufacturing fault Vs warranty issue Vs wear and tear here? If I had noticed I would have made it my local dealer's problem, but I don't have eyes in my arse so was unaware of the problem until this evening.
