First time back in this thread since it started. My 290BE goes back today. I said I wasnt going to bother with another lease but a good deal on a 4wd ST has caught my eye.

A few questions for those who've ordered recently.
What sort of lead time are we looking at currently?
Does the car come with virtual cockpit as standard now?

Current car is a 290 dsg and my only dislike has been the terrible wheel hop. Car before that was a manual mk7 R and I thought the engine and 4wd were a great match let down by the manual box. So I figure a 300 ST 4drive DSG will be me finally getting it right.
I ordered mine in August for "guaranteed December delivery." Been delayed until February.

Virtual cockpit is standard now.

My deal is 5dr mystery blue DSG 8k p/a at £283.99 p/m 1+23.

A PH friend ordered his 300 DSG estate at the end of March as he was opting out of his works car scheme and it got delivered to his dealer last week. The emissions debacle that most manufacturers have seen this year meant that instead of delivery in 24 weeks from order, it took 8 months. SEAT were very good in handling the delay once it became apparent it was going to be an extra 7-8 weeks.

Longer would actually suit me. The dealer seems to have prebought build slots which they are saying will be delivered in march. Around 6 months would suit me better.

Am I right in thinking that a new 290 without lux pack doesn’t have heated seats? That’s a poor show.

Correct. And doubly annoying as the price list had them as standard for quite a long time and then it changed!

The good news is that as the seats are alcantara they don't actually get that cold. I've had my new car for a week and was initially really annoyed about the lack of heated seats, but because the seats aren't leather it hasn't actually bothered me.

I thought it had the Winter Pack as standard.

Had some progress on my Cupra Black seat repair if anyone is interested... I extended my lease for another year so was keen to get it fixed.

Long story short but it's finally in for a repair under warranty, with SEAT in Colchester - picking the car up later smile

Gimmie a shout if you need contact details etc.

I've just ordered a 290 Lux, some good deals around.

Does anyone know why there is no stereo upgrade available any more?

The price list showed winter pack as standard for ages, but it was while they were not building any Cupras, so none ever got it!

It used to be optional but now isn't, and is only included on the Lux.

All part of their new "easy" ordering system, which they've blamed on WLTP but I think that's just a cop out as they still have all the options available in Europe.

Ah FFS, that was one of the big selling points to me mad

The price list definitely said heated seats were included when I ordered. I can do without but it’s disappointing that’s it’s changed. Hopefully it will turn up with them but who knows.

I was in the same boat. Unless you have ordered a Lux then you definitely won't have them I'm afraid.

It's not so bad though as the seats don't get that cold. I don't miss them like I thought I would.

SEAT did give me £200 as a goodwill gesture when I complained.

I have some dreaded clutch slip in 4th+ gear now. When I put the boot down, the revs rise sharply but I gain no speed. Revs then freeze and car picks up speed.

Only got about 1.5 months left with it, so I think I'll just live with it rather than kick up a fuss as it may come back around and bite me. Funny thing is, car was perfect, went into main dealer for its 2 year service and came back with a slipping clutch. Probably entirely unrelated as these cars are designed to be driven hard, but I noticed on their 19 mile road test, they averaged 14mpg.

As my reply in the main leasing thread mine has started this at 14500ish miles, 2nd service is being done next week.
Frankly annoyed, although the slip is slight and seems only in 6th but took extended 12 month lease so only due back in December.
Think a phone call to Seat UK to,complain about their sub standard product is in order.

I already did this, I extended my car a few months and it's due back in a few weeks, but I didn't want the poor sod that buys it next having a slipping clutch. "Oh sir, this is a consumable, you'll need to authorise an £800 payment before we would look at it." WHAAAAT. Shove it, you can take it back and get a warranty claim off the next person. Mine slips in 4th-6th now, so I just drive it like Ms. Daisy.

I have another cupra (although DSG this time) coming to replace this, so hopefully it's been ironed out by now. I had a look online and it does seem like a common issue. My car has had a fairly easy like compared to how some of these cars will get driven, so I was pretty shocked when at 14k miles I noticed clutch slippage.

We've got the clutch issue too at 2 years 20k miles and have an extension... not good at all when ours has also had a very easy life.

Had been looking to keep a bit longer given the 1+23 10k 'deals' about now like £348 (£384 for lux) for an ST eek

I’ve sent a message to Seat UK about being unhappy with their sub standard product, awaiting a reply but the more customers contact them about this the more likely it is they would relent and change it under warranty.

The automated email reply has ST1259969X in the subject title so assume this is a reference, might be worth contacting them and quoting this?

Long time lurker and just found this thread. I've had my lease 300 ST manual since March '18 and am really enjoying it. Coming from a diesel Civic it's certainly more fun. The clutch issues just reported are worrying but its had a relatively easy life with me, and has only just ticked over 6k miles in 10 months

The A-B pace is absolutely ridiculous and I love the sleeper aspect, mine is urban silver and unless you spotted the exhausts or calipers, is basically indistinguishable from an FR. Much to peoples surprise biggrin

The only issue i have is that it's all a bit easy and joyless, fun yes, but i find it lacking that last 5% to really love. Maybe because it's a lease rather than my possession. The Cupra soundaktor drone is also a bit too artificial. Plus it acts as an early warning to SWMBO when it's time to have a bit more a play.

I ordered in October 2017 so it looks like lead times are still similar. Paying 275 amortized a month for 10k PA for reference. Think i have only seen another 3 on the roads around North Hertfordshire, including a carbon edition at the petrol station (The quad exhaust didnt' do it for me, but did sound fruitier)

Getting 30 average, will see up to low 40's on a really easy cruise at around 62-65mph (new years day drive home from Norfolk) Obviously mid 20's for the B-Roads

Google. It would’ve taken less time than writing that post.
