The Cupra (Black) Lease thread
Discussion
Morning all
Just a quick one for the original deal boys and girls,
Mine is coming up to 12 months old (30th September) its covered 2100 miles and its asking for an oil service, now I was lead to believe they were on variable service internals which is usually 18k or 2 years.
According to the display it needs a service is 20 days, this would mean it would be asking for another before the end of lease, i'm pretty sure that the oil will be perfect so i'm going to speak with seat on Monday but I certainly wont be getting it serviced before the 1 year anniversary .
Wandered if anyone else's had asked for a service yet?

On the seat cupra forum, I'm sure I saw that variable servicing will assess how the car is driven; i.e. if it's lots of short journeys, the oil change will be due much sooner than the 2 year mark. There is a way to check what service you're on. Just a quick one for the original deal boys and girls,

Try this to check what service type you're on:
>CAR button
>Setup function button
>Service function button
There's another way about turning the car off and using the trip reset button if the above doesn't work.
Will check today as i'm off work and the wifes in mine so the Cupra is in its normal habitat of parked on the drive :-(
Just tried that it states:
Inspection service due in 17700 miles or 389 days.
Oil service due in 7200 miles or 24 days.
Tried to ring Seat dealer and its a call centre for service booking so just said if the car wants a service it wants a service and I can book you in now.
Its got a loud low speed clunking on the front too when turning at slow speed so will give it a few months and book it in for both.
Also worth noting I've been quoted £195 for an oil service, seems a bit steep

Hi all, I am now 11 months into a two year lease on my Cupra 290. (It's awesome, you guys who are just ordering, it IS worth the wait!) I remember there was an earlier discussion about servicing. Am I right in thinking that if I book it in for a service at 1yr + 1 week since I collected it, then although it counts as being serviced on time, when the lease expires it will still not need (me to pay for) its second annual service?
Eg I took delivery on Dec 9th 2016, I will book the service for Dec 16th 2017, then return on Dec 8th 2018. I am only doing 6000 miles per year so no worries on that front.
Thanks!
You'll be fine, I have done it, Collected car on 30.9.16 got it serviced 15.10.17 its set now for 12 months, i'm giving mine back early but before I knew that i i deliberately left it late so it would only need one :-)Eg I took delivery on Dec 9th 2016, I will book the service for Dec 16th 2017, then return on Dec 8th 2018. Afternoon all
Thought id drop an update in as the thread starter....
Rang VWFS to settle early today, the car was originally brought as a second car for my wife and 2 kids, depending how you look at it fortunately or un-fortunately we had a new arrival in November so needed a bigger car, dropped on another PH lease special and got a Peugeot 5008.
The Cupra at the time 14 months into the lease had only done 2k miles, I was due a replacement company car so work allowed me to delay the new one (see 330E updates, its been a right pain!) and gave me car allowance, since December I've done just over 5k in it, averaged 38mpg which is great but with the new one coming Wednesday I paid my dues today (55% of remaining payments).
Now the interesting bit, I worked out my mileage allowance pro rata and have done 7366, VWFS said I was allowed 7362 so i'm 4 miles over, at £0.07 a mile I wonder if they will send me an invoice? They also said I have 21 days to arrange with BCA the collection and can drive it up until they take it, interesting so if your thinking of early termination you do get some grace.
Overall I've loved the car, now had all 3 MK's of Leon and this has been the best by far (well maybe my Mk1 Cupra R came close) never had an issue and still on its original tyres.
Hopefully one day I will get a hot hatch back.......

I'm wanting to do the opposite and give it back a couple months early. I believe you have to pay 50% of any remaining months payments?
55% if I'm being pedantic!Cheers for the info!
BCA inspection was painless, no damage reported even though there was a few stone chips, he said it’s cheaper to leave it if you have dented panels etc quick video was done and he was gone, he said they get another inspection one at the site though.
