VW took the initial offer off as I was pricing it up with the dealer! Not too dissimilar deal came on 2 days later though.

I've got white GTi DSG nav no options
Initial £1774
Monthly £197
10k miles
10.8ppm

Still pretty happy with that. Been estimated December delivery.

Surely if you wrote it off toward the end of the contract VW would want their resale value back not the original £27k and therefore 5k should cover the difference?
I'd been told conflicting things but you are correct. I can lower my cover to £10k.
I suppose it also depends on predicted residual value, gti is around 55% @ 3 years, ala were suggesting cover of £20k so my £15k was just the median as cvl was offering £10k.

With code piston12 , £10k gap and £2k deposit cover the cost is now £139 for 3 years through ala.co.uk

Wow the deals are cheap.

Hopefully won't see loads of them on the road like the R and GTD, as an owner of a gti it's nice not too see them very much!
Was just thinking today whilst on the daily drive that I only ever seem to see GTD's and R hatchbacks.

When I was in my local VW dealership test driving a GTI, the sales man was saying for every 1 GTI he sold, he would sell roughly 8 Rs.

I've got my SLI number from CVL to allow my to Track my order via the VW system but when I enter it into the website it doesn't recognise it ? I'm assuming I'm just being very impatient and that it's too early on in the process to show up yet , unless anyone else has managed to get it to work? This is where having no patience is gonna ruin me waiting for the GTI to arrive !!

Yeah mine does exactly the same. I spoke to someone on the VW chat and they said the order had been placed with the factory but the tracker had not been updated. They said it may take up to two weeks to appear on the tracker.

Maybe worth going on the chat to see if you have an estimated build week yet.

At my local dealership they didn't even have any Golf GTI's readily available to view. Although the salesman certainly made it clear they had plenty of GTD and R's on the forecourt though!

My tracking number has activated today also. Where did people find the build week info? Or did you have to ask?

A bit random that my order is with a Cardiff branch from what I can see when I'm East Midlands based??

Mine is with Inchcape Telford & I am in Hampshire.

I think you would have to go on the VW website chat to ask about provisional build week.

Well wasn't expecting that...provisional build for week 2 frown A bit annoyed because CVL did say that it wouldn't take anywhere near that long, 6-8 weeks I was told.

I know it can swing the other way also and arrive earlier, just be nice if it does.

Hi all,

I managed to get on the CVL deal:

Golf GTi White 5dr DSG
Deposit: £2400
Monthly: £107.99

It's going to be a long 10-12 weeks!

I haven't got my SIL number yet, how long does it take to get this?
