Well it's now worked for me ! Mine also coming from Cardiff. The interior is shown as Titan Black? I half thought it came with the tartan interior ? Not really bothered either way at the price but anyone have any pics of what the Titan black interior looks like ? Goggle comes up with leather and I'm sure I'm into getting that for the price I paid!!

It will be tartan don't worry about it saying titan black mine says that too.

Provisional build week 2 as well for me. That would mean Feb delivery. Not quite the 2-3 weeks CVL originally quoted then!

I will defo not be happy if it's next year ! Even on the phone CVL said they thought this would be a quicker turnaround than they usually have ! Hopefully the tracker will change and it comes earlier

Rubbish time of year for me if it is a Feb delivery given its just after the hmrc returns are due and paid. Obviously I always put money away for this though....

Is it worth getting ?


My tracker showing the car as being a manual and not a DSG as ordered.
CVL says wait to Friday as they are updating the orders on the system.
Provisional BW of 14th November given by Vw CS but I suspect this is quick cos they not specified the dsg on it.

Go on to VW and open the live chat window. Quote your order number and just ask when the provisional build week is.

You won't be able to add it after the order has gone in unless you are willing to go with current pricing.

Sods law. I ordered a manual and am not far from Newbury.

Not sure when it was exactly ordered but got the finace in place on the 2/10, imagine it was ordered in and around that week.

Hi everyone, drove a GTI today apparently R orders are over now. Sorry if I'm being a bit thick, what is CVL?

Would welcome any tips of dealers to get in touch with, Letchworth just referred my details to VW for a business lease call?

CVL = Central Vehicle Leasing. It's where most of these orders for GTi's has come from. They ran the deal at the beginning of this thread but has now gone up in price.

It also depends on which dealers the orders are placed through.

Each dealer has a set allocation of cars they are able to order or amend.
As their quota is filled, the dates get moved out.

If you get lucky and get your order in with a quiet dealer then potential to get your car quicker.

Ordered mine through nation vehicle Solutions. Lots of good comms applied Sunday later noon had finance agreed that evening was surprised how painless it all was.

Order docs signed and admin fee paid just waiting for finance docs and tracking number now.

Just got off live chat with VW and my GTI is build week 45. Seems I got lucky judging by some of the build weeks for you guys!

Well just got off live chat and like the OP mine is week 2 of 2017 at the moment . Not happy with that if other people are getting build weeks of 45. I've gone exact same spec as OP and dealer is shown as Cardiff as well. The chap on live chat did say that at the moment cars are getting long build date estimates while they wait for spec finalisations or changes so fingers and toes crossed it comes earlier .... especially after watching the Chris Harris review on YouTube which has got me really wanting it now and not just because the deal is good !

I also just got off the live chat and mine is currently build week 45. If that stands then I cannot see me getting it for the end of November as I was originally quoted. Guy on the chat said its generally 6-8 weeks from the build week to the dealer.

I will have to monitor the tracker . The deal is very good but if the build week is Jan and then another 6-8 weeks after that I'm not sure I'm prepared to wait that long after initially being told the car would potentially be here in 6-8 weeks from now. I appreciate that it takes time to build but I've gone for the most basic one possible so cannot see why on earth some people are getting week 45 quoted. Not sure Mrs Tron would be happy to wait until March for the car. Taken the shine off it at the moment for me I'm afraid

I don't think the tracker will help much until the build week is confirmed. Best bet is to go on the VW chat weekly and get your current estimated build week.

It's strange how the build weeks vary so much. If i'm honest getting the car in March would actually be preferential for me as that is when i hand back my vRS which is on lease. Saves having to run 2 cars at once for a few months, but seems like I have one of the earliest build weeks!
