The S5 lease thread

My S5 coupe arrives on Wednesday and I also purchased contract hire GAP from ALA this being my first lease as well. £25,000 limit and £3,000 in respect of the initial payment, which is slightly less than I'm paying, but at £87.40 for 2 years cover I'm not complaining too much.
How long did it take from uk port to delivery?jacobyoung74 said:

On the test drive I had I averaged about 38 mpg on a mix of A and B roads over say 15/20 mile journey. I had my fun then reset the computer and drove the car back to the dealer sensibly.
They must have given you one with a block.under the accelerator or a dodgy computer haha! I have just done a 95 miles motorway trip and sitting in efficiency mode at 75mph on cruise control it was averaging 32mpg... as soon as I go into towns or any fun a roads I am mid 20s at best.... my long term average at 1150 miles is 19.1mpg.I suspect these mpgs will all improve with the milder weather.
I only do around 7/8k miles (inc business miles) a year so not overly worried about mpg.

Thanks for your positive feedback. The MPG worries me a little bit, but that said mine will mainly be used at weekends. I considered the VC over the normal cockpit, but having the nav in the cockpit and other functions like music etc visible on the 'tablet' at the same time made me decide it was well worth the extra £250.00. I recon now that people are getting their deliveries through, this feedback needs another thread.

Are you sure you weren't driving a diesel A5 ? Are- it either that or definitely a faulty on-board computer. On my very long extended test drive I tried for a while just to see what the best I could get was, open country roads, careful acceleration and sticking under the speed limits and I couldn't achieve anywhere near the figure you seem to have got.
I'd second this feedback - Perhaps they stuck an S5 badge on an A5 to convince you of the quoted MPG figures lolWell if it was a diesel it sounded great and was very fast.
The fuel gauge hardly moved whilst I had it and after having done say 40ish miles the range was not far off what it was when I picked it up as I drove it gently back.
When I get mine I'll do a follow up - probably along the basis that the demo car was rigged to over read to get people to buy it. Ha!

Well my 20th of Feb build has jumped all the way to quality control now. It was still showing order received status on Sunday. Let's hope they don't have the same fiasco that they had in Emden with the Golf R's leaving the compound for the boat (My car was pushed to the back by cars built later than mine and sat there for weeks and weeks...)
Great news. Hope this bloody boat doesn't sink now; it must be full to the gunnels with S5s.Hello all.... just this minute had an email from Fleetsauce, saying estimated delivery to dealer is now 3rd April... my build date is still showing 6th March.
Anyone have any idea if the delivery to dealer date will be the date its registered? Just thinking of the extra charges, which i'd like to avoid as you can imagine!

I was told by my dealership that 1st registration is done on the day it actually arrives at the dealership. Fingers crossed for all expected March deliveries to avoid hundreds in extra VED tax then!Anyone have any idea if the delivery to dealer date will be the date its registered? BTW My dealer enfactically promised me delivery of the 20th March. Before I signed the final paperwork a couple of weeks ago I insisted that before I did sign I required them to repay the new VED difference if it was delivered and registered after March 31st. They agreed this in writing so happy days.piperdelux said:
The 3rd is a monday, so I dunno if maybe they dont get deliveries on saturdays... which would be a proper pain in the ass to miss avoiding the extra charges by 2 days!
All the dates are Monday's so I would imagine even when they are talking days they actually mean that week (or the week before)Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
