In fairness the B9 comes with a lot more standard kit than the B8 did
Yes. And we're early in the model's lifecycle, with no "black editions"or similar which bundle a load of options at a heavy discount.

B8 S4s only got satnav as standard on the runout "Nav" models in mid-2015.

Wow, not even on the 8.5? Mine was an early B8, no nav, no parking sensors, SS seats extra, bluetooth extra! But at least there was a flat red available as standard!

I did consider it but I have it on my current car and to the best of my knowledge I've never used it... unless of course I've just never noticed smile

Still, it's only £75 wink

And I saw a very lovely grey A5 this morning...

If it helps I havent missed it from my Golf even though I used it all the time on it. Being an auto massively reduces the need for it IMO. In the Yorkshire dales the other week I needed to dual peddle a bit but I have two feet. In a manual with the electronic parking brake this would have been a nightmare.

I have had my SB for 2 weeks now, overall really impressed with the cars ability its not a sports car by any means but its a multi talented car capable of great pace and its road holding is going to be superb in all weathers i'm sure, i got a black, with red leather, love the combo but black is going to be hard to keep clean (as everyone mentions), got VC which is a must i think, reversing camera also so convenient, folding mirrors not great as i cant get them to fold automatically when locking the car, privacy glass, wouldn't have it without makes the back end of the car,Flat bottom steering wheel also a no brainer not functional but looks better, would of had the B&O if i was ordering again find the standard system a bit gutless, love the sound it makes if a little muted most of the time, MPG is low i am averaging around 20 which is lower than i expected, got Hankooks on mine so much better then continentals, had them for years on Mercs and never liked them.

MPG does get better with time. After 2 weeks I was averaging 18-20, but now after 1200 miles I'm averaging 22-24. I don't think it will get any better than that now though. You can get the mirrors to auto fold on lock using VCDS. A friendly VW/Audi garage can do this for you in 5 mins if you ask.

My car hasn't arrived yet but I also chose the folding mirrors. I would have thought they should fold when you lock the car, and it is why I paid for the option. My friend has previous generation a5 sportback and new a4 saloon - and they both include this option. Would have thought the s5 also had that function...

Yes, very surprised you'd need VCDS for this. It's easily configurable from the MMI on B8 models. I'd double-check your manual!

MPG: Over nearly 2 years/20K miles of B8 S4 ownership, my average according to the computer is 25.9mpg, running on regular unleaded with no mods. Driving conditions (and style...) probably make more difference than anything else. My driving is probably 10% urban, 10% motorway/DC and 80% brisk rural A/B roads.

Once the novelty of launch control wears off, your MPG will improve smile

Good point on checking the manual, there's an awful lot in there to absorb. I don't have the folding mirror option so never seen it in the MMI, but I know you can enable it in VCDS if it's not there, but IMO it should be an MMI option like the B8.

Is that a B8 or B8.5? Sounds high for a B8! My usage was similar you yours but I only got 22 mpg over 3 years! Getting 28 out of the S5 on average. I am a bit older now so could be driving it a bit more nicely though.

Ah, understood. I thought you said earlier that the folding motors weren't fitted? Or am I confusing reverse dip with folding mirrors?

Sorry - yes, it's a B8.5 and a late CREC engined one, at that.

Sorry for confusion. Folding mirror motors are not fitted as standard (auto folding option only), but LH/RH mirrors have a motor for adjustment and dipping.
VCDS options:
Auto fold when locking (if fitted with auto fold option)
Reverse dipping (all B9 models)

I had it enabled by default on my Landrover and hated it, but fortunately for me you could turn it on/off in the LR functions menu. I do think though that an MMI system as sophisticated as the S5's there should be these basic options as standard in the MMI menu.

All ordered. Very, very happy. I don't generally 'do' excited, but September (optimistic??) can't come quickly enough!

I think my problem is going to be keeping away from the Best Least Deals thread...

Quick Audi Connect question for those that have their cars already -

The delivery driver from JCT Audi called today ahead of tomorrow's PM delivery (via trailer).

I asked him to confirm he would have both keys and the plastic fob with the scratch off Audi Connect code so I can activate Connect Services (which is how I thought it worked), but he knew nothing of this and said he def had 2 keys but no plastic wallet key or code.

I explained what I thought and he was going to ask fleet to see if he was missing anything.

Have I lost the plot or what should I expect to receive key/code wise on delivery?

It should be with the keys but mine wasnt and I know a few other people on here never had theirs. I had to go back to Sheffield Audi and complain. They reached out to the factory and got another plastic fob sent. I received it 2 weeks after complaining the fob was missing. Melissa at Fleet Services went above and beyond again.

I'm in the same boat as you...ordered last week for Sept delivery! And I keep coming back to this thread to further torture myself...
