Yeah, I just would think I could have a well specced RS6 Performance for that instead and get far better residuals (given a third of the price of the car isn't on options) and get a V8 while I was on with it!
Yes, you can see fully specced B8 S5/RS5's for sale online for a fraction of the cost new. Normally ex well serviced company cars that have used the massive depreciation. As much I like the new RS5 (except the hideous 20'' wheels), I can also think of a better cars for that sort of money. The M4 being one IMO.

Yeah if I was buying one, the 19s would be stopping on. Although I don't find it offensive, I think its not as nice a looking car as the S5. If it was an S5 (appearance wise) with wider arches ad the RS5 grille it would look better IMO. I dont like the darkened rear lights (unless the car is black), they are just too dark. The Golf R darkened lights are light enough to work with a brightly coloured car but the Audi dark lights look Halfords on a car thats not dark in colour itself.

Your not comparing apples with apples. When the new rs6 will come that too will have ridiculous carbon options costing over 5k. Everything seems to have been increased like you mention carbon inlays are 450 on s5 and 950 on the Rs. You can't get the light vision pack so that costs more Etc. Personally I think the S cars make sense. The BMW have only started to make a m model i.e. M440i,m 140i etc I don't think it differentiates it enough. Mercedes now have the c and e 43 models which are true competitors to the s's imo. plus these cars you can have as dailies

Yes I am. If the £95k RS5 and the £95k RS6 Performance were parked next to each other and somebody said you can have which of those you would like, I would take the RS6. But no I would never spec an RS5 to that even if I could afford to. I personally dont like all the carbon stuff that they offer as options. I do like the aluminium styling packs though I think they are tasteful, but I suppose taste is a matter of opinion.

Very nice! I agree that it looks better with privacy glass.....great in this weather for rear passengers. In my case having a black one is like the inside of an oven, even with privacy glass! Seen a few S5's around now but never a white one.

It's odd that the dark rear lights look better on some cars regardless of colour (Golf being one of them) albeit lighter. They do generally look better on black cars though, but as you say they can look like a Halfords DIY spray job.

A quick snap taken today. Have done around 750 miles in nearly two months. Enjoying the sound and acceleration. Long term average around 24.5mpg which is roughly just over 200 miles to a tank. It always optimistically gives me a range of 450 miles when I fill it up which would be an average of about 38 mpg - ain't neva guna happen!

My only niggles are a few intermittent creaks and rattles but the drivers windows shudder/rub/move over undulating surfaces and don't always drop when I open the door so makes closing a pain!

After a four month wait, finally picked up my sportback yesterday. Well worth the wait, a few pics below

I think I remember reading on here about the issue of seat belt rattling against the passenger seat - anyone found a cure, except for plugging it in which looks daft!

Collected mine today. After a long time of deciding whether or not to keep the order on, I can safely say I knew I'd made the right decision within the first few minutes.

Coming from a 2.0 diesel, this thing feels absolutely brutal in terms of pace.

Has been in dynamic mode pretty much all day and getting around 25mpg, with a fair bit of hammering here and there.

In comfort mode, was happily hitting 40mpg's along the motorway.

Well, it was downhill, being towed by another car, and turning the engine off.....but hey, efficiency!

Hi i have the issue when the glass doesn't alway drop when closing. I have to open window manually a tad to fix. Done 2k miles - amazing drive to cornwall recently, i had plenty of creaks then i remember - usually on a frameless door its the rubbers against the door especially if the dealership used some dodgy chemical to clean or transportation dirt. I gave my rubbers a good clean with soap and some gummifledge to lube and i don't get a squeak. The interior is very well built and now the creaks have gone I am loving it

Hello!

Wondering if any potential S5 customer would like to take on my Dec '15 S7 for the remainder of it's lease?...

£470/month (inc. VAT), no deposit (as i've already paid it), 5k miles per annum. £114 transfer fee.
To start from 15th June '17 (maybe 15th July '17, depending on how long the paperwork takes) - car to be returned to VW Finance by 15th Dec '17.
Private plate will be removed prior to transfer.

I'm planning on moving with work, this is a second car - so it's not going to be used.
I can return the car to Audi (VW Finance) but I have to pay a early settlement. However I can transfer the lease, so that's preferred.
And means that the new owner doesn't have to provide an deposit (it was approx. £4k)

Only 'catch' is that VW Finance have told me that it needs to be leased to business (private limited company) and not an individual.
The (£470) figure I pay includes VAT (it's £390.20/month exc. VAT).

Excess mileage charge is £0.09 (exc. VAT).
Car is currently on approx. 7,300 miles - I'm slightly over my allowance, so I would expect that I clear the "overuse" with VW Finance before transferring. Meaning that the new owner has 416 miles per month included, before hitting an excess mileage charge.

The only option on the car is Sepang Blue paint (the S7 is a very high-spec as standard).

Please drop me a direct message if you are interested.

Quick update: I also posted on a 'best lease car deals' post elsewhere on the PH forums.
One of the members rightly spotted that BIK (benefit-in-kind) will be at a high/expensive rate on this car.
I'm not paying any BIK, as I have it on a personal lease.
So it's worth keeping this in mind if you were considering taking it on.

I expect that I will return the car to VW Finance early - but should anyone be looking, then it's a great car and you'd save on the initial deposit. Thanks.

Gents

Just a quick one to compare any recent deals & get some thoughts....

I will be coming out of a 435d x-drive M-sport Gran Coupe in November which I love and I am thinking an S5 Sportback would be a good replacement. The 435d is super quick & very well kitted out so need something comparable for an everyday commuter...

Initial spec thoughts would be:

Navara Blue
Rotor grey leather
Comfort & Sound Pack
Electric Door mirrors
Electric memory front seats
Light & Vision Pack
Flat bottom steering wheel

Had a quote for 10k per year - £3k+VAT down / £435+VAT per month on 24 months

How does this stack up against some of the deals you guys have had?

Has anyone seen any really good deals recently or got a lease direct from the dealer?

Cheers.

To me that sounds pretty good overall - the best deals are on the S4 at the moment depending if you would consider one
