Having had loading issues during the past week, today mine's developed a variation.

After Google Maps boots up the MMI changes from daylight colours to night time colours - both in standard view. Google Maps satellite view is on the VC, however. Toggling the Map Settings to Standard view reverts both to Standard, as it should, but Google Maps only converts the VC to Google maps, the MMI stays 'night time'.

Wondering if a hard MMI reset would be worth trying (if I knew how to), but wouldn't that involve all sorts of re-registering?
Not had that issue, but mine still freezes in earth view. Hopefully there will be an MMI software update shortly to sort reported issues out.

FOLKS, my car has been spotted in the last 24 hours on Larne Court in Widnes literally 5 miles from my house. If anyone lives anywhere near here please keep your eyes out for my Nav Blue S5 coupe. It was last seen with my private plate still on it Y31 SPW
Will do (WA5 here)
Hi Phil - given your in WA5 I wanted to share this with you.
My car was seen just after being stolen on Friday 30th June driving along Cronton Lane and past Cronton College. Opposite that college is a road that leads to Pex Hill. The car sat on this road for 5 mins with the lights on then sped off towards the town centre then onto a dual carriage way that leads to the M62.
Then on Sunday the 2nd it was seen on Larne Court in Wides.

Kin cheeky bar stewards!!!!

I'm in WA7 so will keep my eyes peeled this end. I can't believe the idiots still have it running on the original plates...unless of course they want a police chase in it!!!

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is a silly question...

I have the VC and everytime I start the car, it shows the fuel usage gauge in the left hand half of the display.

Every time I change it to display the map instead. (Nobody wants to see that all of the time wink )

I can't see a way to set the display to default to the map.

Does anybody know a way I can do this?

Well guys im considering my S5 a total loss now - even if its found I dont really want it back given the scum will have ragged it for over a week. Everything is now moving very quickly through my car insurance and Audi Finance (who so far have been fantastic) and once all settled Audi are going to try and get me in a like for like car and continue the remainder of the agreement. I really hope I can get back in an S5 given I only got to spend a few months in one.

As a back up plan I have a Seat Leon Cupra 300 lined up - a definite drop down for sure - but at 1300 down and 230 a month for 10k per annum over 2 years with a few options its a cheap way to get back into a half decent car if Audi cant sort me out.

If anything positive can come out of this it's you guys taking a re-think on your own security and I hope it doesnt happen to anyone else on here. Turns out the S5 is the second most desirable car to steal with the S3 first and range rovers following closely.

TF I have mine already then! I'd only want it changing if it improved other things while dropping the mpg!

Wonder if S5's and S4's currently out on the roads will somehow be updated?
Interesting link.

Am I still allowed to be in here given I am 'S5 less' for the time being ;-)

My bet is this will include ironing out the sluggish pick up from the auto box in normal mode. That will involve more drag from the torque converter when stationary though.

Always welcome...you still are an S5 owner (sort of) ;-) Hope Audi sort you out with a nice new one, so fingers crossed.

Can't see it myself as that is probably a major engine/gearbox alteration rather than a software change? Not sure what 'spontaneity' is supposed to mean though. Normal D mode from a standstill is a pain with that lag though I agree, so I just keep it in S mode all the time unless cruising on a motorway or similar long road.

I bet they won't, they will take their payouts and call it a done deal I reckon (sorry Simon but that's how I imagine it happening, not what I hope will happen)

Bizarre. It's like they're aware of something that's potentially cheating emissions but daren't fess up to it.

I hadn't realized before that the A6/7/8 diesels allegedly also have naughty software. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/99634/audi-a...

Im at 2600 miles and my oil level was the same, just topped up with 1/3 litre of oil. To be expected during the run in period and and how you drive it.

It's an Audi, they are known for using a bit of oil. My B8 S4 was the same.

I am just keeping an open mind and have a car lease on a Leon 300 ready to go if Audi cant get me in another car. Getting me in another car would be the best outcome for them - they collect in full from the insurance and then keep collecting my monthly for the next 18 months.
