oil consumption ???
I have done 2400 miles and found this :
Im at 2600 miles and my oil level was the same, just topped up with 1/3 litre of oil. To be expected during the run in period and and how you drive it.
It's an Audi, they are known for using a bit of oil. My B8 S4 was the same.
Wow, done nearly 3k on mine and still shows full. I better check the dip stick then just in case.

You can check the oil level with the connect app. The level is up and down like a wes drawers but never below 2/3. I bought top up oil and will add it when I assume the car tells me too.

Did you not get a litre in the boot like I did with mine when it arrived?

Ok, checked it and a little low. Took 1/3 of a litre to the line so all is well other than the MMI indicator is not that accurate.

Hold it right there. You mean they actually fit a proper dipstick now???? The B8's just have a bung where you insert "special tool #77666# or whatever.

Didn't the B8.5 have a dipstick too? I thought they changed it on them too.

Just a bung on my July'15 S4. (Phew! Embarrasingly I had to actually check, as I'd always just assumed....)

Actually I think its that there is a retrofit kit available or something. I know my 09 S4 didnt have one.

The B9 S5 just has a bung. So I had to take it to the dealer at lunchtime and insisted they manually check it (quoting others reported at low level), which they did and as they are only a mile and a half away. They have some sort of long circular (not flat) thin rod with a yellow top to it. Mine fortunately only needed a 1/3 of a litre although the MMI said full. The technician said that the MMI is not always that accurate and can vary depending on a number of conditions i.e gradient, hot/cold engine etc, etc. Having had problems before on a 2013 Land Rover due to a faulty digital oil gauge, and reading the post about how low some peoples oil was low after such low mileage, it panicked me a bit as I'm driving to the south of France in two weeks time. The technician did say that for the first few thousand miles this is normal though and it will get better. I wish Audi would give us a bloody dip stick for piece of mind.....don't trust digital and want to see it physically for myself like I used too.

Yeah sort gap out for sure but to be honest I don't think there will be a big gap to bridge given it had 4200 miles 6 months old I paid 3600 down and then 399 a month since Jan. Can't see it losing much more than 6 grand in 6 months
Well if you were dealing with the insurance directly then one could argue that it wont have lot much at all, as you cant get one until December now so they are obviously in demand. But I presume VWFS will liaise directly with the insurance company? And I thought they came after all of the payments not just what isn't covered by the car?
A few people asked for me to post about the process of my stolen S5 in terms of dealing with the insurance and VWFS. Well Audi issued LV Insurance with a settlement figure and LV have paid the amount requested. My LV policy did have a clause that would replace the car within the first 12 months but given its a lease they cant do that. This might be why however they settled the amount requested with no push back.
From now two outcomes are possible - either my agreement with Audi is terminated and I start again with a new lease (have a Cupra 300 or Golf GTI lined up) OR Audi put me in another S5 and I continue for the remaining 18 months at my current payment.
Audi want the latter - or at least thats what they are telling me - which makes sense as they now have the full value of the vehicle back and can put me in another S5 and continue to collect my payments. Every Monday a stock list is refreshed of the cars within Audi UK and they will use this list to find a coupe in blue with as close to the options and spec I had as possible.
If this turns out to be not possible then my agreement simply ends. There is nothing more to pay - the insurance have effectively covered everything.
All this has been sorted within two weeks of the car being stolen.

An unfortunate situation, but a good resolve all round either way. I hope you eventually get another S5 as I recon you will definitely miss it over a Cupra or GTI. When you do get some new wheels, I bet your curtains will be twitching at the slightest noise outside though. ears

True mate - got 8 cameras up now and slightest noise has me reaching for the iPad to have a look. Got a driveway post going in too. Didn't expect to be knocked as much by it tbh

Sorry to hear your news Simon, Not a S5 leaser (did have one on order but delivery kept getting longer and longer and I needed a car so cancelled my order!). I had exactly the same situation just before xmas (they tried to get through the patio doors failed, so smashed through double glazed kitchen window) they rooted through the house and stole jewellery and the keys to my wife's brand new leased Audi S3 (only 3 weeks old) except the scumbags wrote the car off half way up the road. Police have said it is very unlikely to happen again.. but you never know if someone is determined to break in and take your car they will.. the way I see it you need to get enough security to put the ba$£$ds off and get them to go else where (an easier target - sounds harsh but its true). I went to the ninth degree in terms of added security which included floodlights, motion sensor CCTV, window sashes, rock solid ultion locks that snap in the barrell if tampered with, retractable anti-ram posts on the drive and a vibration sensor alarm system with guard response and finally a secure immobiliser system for my BMW... sounds OTT but the whole situation made me paranoid and disgusted that someone had been rifling through our home. The missus didn't want to get a new S3, in case it happened again, but i have now ordered a new one for delivery in the next few months - you cant change your behaviour because of a minority of scumbags that take what they want without consideration, all you can do is be pro-active with security, make it really challenging and difficult for them to get in and once in a limited amount of time to get what they need, also let your whole street know what has happened so people are aware and keep an eye out in future. We now always take our car keys out with us even if we are only taking the one car or going on holiday!
