Sorry to keep going on about this.

Broker has come back today with £36pm for maintenance including tyres etc

Anybody now the price for 1 service and 2 tyres? I'm assuming that's what I'll need judging from my last lease but if I know the price then I'll be able to work out if its worth it or not.
Thats what mine came fitted with

Thanks for that Tom.

So it will probably break even but that's not calculating the excess mileage charge. I suppose it makes sense to just leave it.

I'm wondering (having just been looking at tyres) if its worth buying a set of 4 alloys and winter tyres; has anybody seen any cheap(ish) but nice looking alloys for the S5? I arent looking to go down a size I dont think. I am wary of all the "Audi" rims on eBay which are obviously clones but what quality are they?

I knew someone with a moody pair of rotors from eBay and when he got the tyres changed 2 of the 4 wheels had cracks in them!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. A lot of them will be made out of play dough

quick 15 mile round trip to the takeaway.... over 30mpg. Strangely just as satisfying as 12mpg on a balls-out couple of miles across one of our lovely mountain roads smile

And yes, I was listening to Radio 3.
How do you get your VC to display like that? Cant see that view, no doubt I'm missing something

Any reason why you are thinking about winter tyres? I would only really consider them on RWD car.

You mean "classic" view? When on car info hit the left shoulder button and go to switch view. You have to do this when stationary. Oddly enough as of yesterday I started using this view instead of the "sport" view.

Oooo I like all these cool views and things.

Hadn't seen the lap timer thing before either, not that I will ever use it, but it's a cool manly pub topic biggrin

Any other little VC things i may have missed?!

I didnt like that in sport mode you lost the right hand window if you had the nav on for the directions where I normally had consumption as a permanent fixture, whereas on classic you get those directions on the inside of the right dial with the speed and consumption on the rev dial so you get the middle to do what you like with.

One other thing I found on the VC in Classic mode, that if your on the "standard" display, i.e consumption, or the date time, if you hit "view" then you can also get the oil temp and the turbo boost pressure when the speedometer and rev counter minimises.

Despite it being leased, I try to get it into the 80's before giving it a blast....most of the time.

I much prefer the classic view and it's nice to have google maps on the VC too... that's my preferred view (I'm way past worrying about consumption).

I'd also forgotten about the wonderfully easy 'pop it into S mode' by knocking the gear selector back. Had it in the A7 and used it all the time.

On my way home this evening the mountain road was deserted (not even any wandering sheep)... I slowed to a virtual stop twice so I could floor it biggrin The only disappointment is that the speed limit warning comes on so quickly. The car sounds so good... my last petrol car was a hateful 1991 Rover 214 that I eventually had crushed, out of spite. I can't imagine going back to diesel now smile

I have to say that the sound system is really coming alive now... this evening's eclectic mix was Mysha Didi, The Cure, Donna Summer, & Pantera. All sounded fking amazing (or in the case of the latter, fking Hostile).

My only issue is that I've struggled to set up Audi Connect.... I've gone through the process and don't believe I've missed any steps, but while I'm getting the news/weather feeds and Google Maps is working just fine, my mobile app tells me I don't have the necessary authorisations. I'll probably only use the Nav's 'send to car' facility, but it would be nice to be able to complete the set up. It seems to stall when I try to set the primary user... I've tried it probably a dozen times and I get a 'connection error' every time... anyone else had difficulties?

Ha ha, I had a Rover 214 SLi many years ago.....deffo worth crushing.
Do you still get the remote lock/unlock? If so then you have Audi Connect connection, but the app settings may be set wrong?

I'll have to check in the morning... probably wouldn't use it, but would be a good test. Too engrossed in Leftovers S3 and a glass of tequila to do it now though smile

No remote lock/unlock unfortunately... "You are not authorised for this service!"

The myAudi site tells me that the account is verified, but I need to assign myself as the key user... but each time I try that I get a 'connection error'. I've tried in several locations too, just in case it's an issue with the signal strength for the Audi sim (assuming that's what it uses). I've also tried with my phone connected by cable and bluetooth, cable only, bluetooth only... at a bit of a loss so I'd better give Audi a call.

I spotted a Rover 214 Cabriolet for sale a couple of days ago - I think he wanted £1750 for it, which seemed far too much to me!

I had a 220GSi 3 door (not the turbo), which was a nice little car (not incredible, but nice - I had it a good long time as is the norm for me!) and Rover dealers were some of the best I ever dealt with, shame they've gone really.

Just collected my S5 coupe Daytona grey. Bit underwhelmed by the colour but it's filthy and I'm sure will come alive once detailed.
Having a mare with Audi connect myself - in my previous S5 it took me ages as well.
