Ok, finally washed the car so pictures are respectable.......

For information, they are all 20 x 10 TSW Bathurst in silver with Diamond cut spoke face. Tyres are 265 x 30 x 20 Dunlop GT Sport with only a 65db noise rating so very quiet!
TBH, they look a lot better in the flesh than in a photo as does the car.
Just waiting for the 70mm Audi centre caps now.
Nice style - I'd have them in anthracite as a closer match to my Daytona Grey, but like the skinny spokes.
I thought about anthracite, but on a black car they just did not look right IMO. I can always have the internal sprayed gun metal grey leaving the chrome spokes as a compromise, but I'll have to think about that one.[img]https://thumbsnap.com/sc/8TAbpz1a.jpg[/img

Apologies if this has been asked already. What kind of range do you guys get from a full tank?
I'm 6 months and 7k miles in with my car from August last year and long term average of 27mpg, but with motorway runs in efficiency mode seeing up to 34mpg.
Cant quite manage 400 miles from a tank, but 300-350 seem to be the norm depending on how much motorway and A road is on my route. Anyone managed 400 yet?
Also found that the standard Continental tyres seem pretty good on snow so far. Straight up an icy and compacted snow covered hill that had front drive cars slithering around.

Yes!I've had it 3 times now, all in December, I've no common denominator to put it to, like filling with fuel or a long or short journey. It's just appeared, limited the engine to 3.5k then has gone off after stopping the car for a while.
I was going to take it in, but can't be bothered with an intermittent fault bingo garage visit, which usually results in someone resetting something and making it worse/doing nothing to help at all.
Happy to report it hasn't come back since.

I am averaging 21mpg. I rarely use motorways and nearly always drive in dynamic mode. On a run to South of France I managed 38mpg in economy mode. With regard to how many miles on a full tank, I have no idea as I have never checked.I'm 6 months and 7k miles in with my car from August last year and long term average of 27mpg, but with motorway runs in efficiency mode seeing up to 34mpg.

I think I got 380 once, that was all motorway averaging about 36 IIRC. But never had the 405/410 it indicates when I fill it up!I'm 6 months and 7k miles in with my car from August last year and long term average of 27mpg, but with motorway runs in efficiency mode seeing up to 34mpg.

I have averaged 28mpg since getting it, dynamic all the time more or less (it makes next to no difference at motorway speeds I find). Best I have had it was I got 38 on a 100 mile trip once, which was because the motorway was quite quiet I could just maintain constant speed.
A normal tank no motorway is about 320-330. I do hardly any town driving though.

Is yours still on a diet of 99RON for the tuning box? 21MPG doesn't sound great, but road/traffic/driving style make useful comparisons really difficult. My B8 averages about 26 (almost no motorway, and almost no urban...)

Yes, sounds about right, but I figure it's barely loosened up yet at 8.5k. 375 possible occasionally, when I can be bothered to try, but enjoy the engine note too much, so it's worth paying for :-)I'm 6 months and 7k miles in with my car from August last year and long term average of 27mpg, but with motorway runs in efficiency mode seeing up to 34mpg.

Ok, someone asked about miles per tank. I've been using an app called Drivvo to track each time I fill up, and here are a couple of charts:
So I get about 320 miles per tank. And as others have reported, I get around 27mpg, same as what the car says it gets.
To get 32mpg, I had to drive like an angel (for me) and stick to 70 leptons.
To get below 24mpg, I had the roof box on the car and drove in Dynamic like a hero.

I got 37mpg on a long run on A roads stuck behind lorries, tractors for miles. So I get about 320 miles per tank. And as others have reported, I get around 27mpg, same as what the car says it gets.

I took the picture, showed the missus it wasn't that bad on fuel and then failed to achieve anywhere near that since. I have omitted that info from our conversations
To add to the MPG discussion - last weekend I tried an experiment for a trip to Devon. It's a 180 mile trip which involves the first hour heading cross-country on combination of a and B roads and then the remainder of the journey on the M5.
I've never tried it before but I switched into economy when leaving home and drove in standard D rather than my usual S on the gearbox.
I did manage to sneak in a couple of overtakes dropping into sport a couple of occasions, but in the main it was what I would class as regular driving in regular traffic. The motorway was smooth and free running, I can't say what speed if you know what I mean.
I checked the computer when I got to my destination and I have returned 32 MPG.
Driving cross-country I really didn't like the economy mode or the D setting, I don't plan on doing it again. I don't think I will use economy again, it felt way too sluggish but incredibly smooth.

Ha Ha, me too. The odd thing is every time she gets in the car (not that often) the bloody re-fuel light pings up, so she says ''you need petrol again!?'' told her it did 35mpg when I got it. Has anyone on her done the exhaust mod so the flaps are always open?
Yep, sounds good in all modes. Also does it throw up any error codes on the dash?

Can you give an idea of how to do it mate? From what i understand start car put in dynamic and S then turn car off. Disconnect the 2 plugs on exhaust waterproof them cable tie them to car. Job done.

Yep as you describe. No error codes show up on dash or code reader. Also does it throw up any error codes on the dash?
On the mpg theme - I’m knocking up 80 mostly motorway miles a day on my commute.
I had been using “Economy” and getting around 27mg. For the past week, as an experiment, I’ve been using “Dynamic” and the mpg has increased slightly - almost 28mpg.
I know it’s not a scientific experiment - but has anyone else noticed the “Economy” makes no difference to mpg?

It makes a difference when tootling about on a/b roads IMO because it short shifts a lot more and doesn't drop gear as much. But for motorway driving I'd say it makes very little to no difference.I had been using “Economy” and getting around 27mg. I averaged 23.7mpg over 20K miles in S8, so it's below what's posted up about S5. The only difference is, S8 has 82l tank and you don't have to go to petrol station that often. One of the reasons I didn't want to go for S4 or S5. Never used economy settings, mostly Comfort or Dynamic and box in D or S.
