Thanks guys. LV a touch cheaper than flux, but still coming in at £740 and doesn’t include driving other cars.

I'm with Aviva, who significantly undercut everyone else. Multi car with Octy VRS diesel was under £600 combined. 14 years NCB.

Yeah I did a year with LV and just switched to quote me happy this time around. Might be worth a look with them. Also try adding someone to your policy and see if that helps. Might sound odd but I added my dad who has 20 yrs+ NCB and my price went down £60. Dont know how that works but thats what happened!

Thanks for the insurance tips guys.

For my next question.... it appears that Audi connect is pre setup, in as much as google earth etc already works. I’m assume this was done as part of the PDI. Does anyone know how long the free subscription is?

3 years. FYI on the lesser models (without the better nav) they come with 3 months, but since it seems Audi do not have the infrastructure in place for charging for it if you email them they renew it for free.

Coincidentally I just posted on the B8 S4 thread that Streetview has stopped working, and there seems a strong possibility that Google Earth won't be there in the longer term...

Hmmm, it would be a massive shame if they took it off. It is one of the best things about it IMO.

Do you get Streetview on the S5, by the way?

I did, not sure if I do anymore if they are getting rid of it!

Agree - no Google Maps would be a bit of a disaster in my eyes.

Those saying “street view” on google maps- do you mean eye level street view or satellite view?

Eye-level streetview. On the B8 you zoom in on the satellite imagery and the "closest" view switches to StreetView. Basically like this...

If you select a position on the map and then hit the right shoulder button it allows you to select streetview, or similar to that IIRC.

Ooh, Fancy. When you say shoulder button - do you mean the one to the right of the rotary Dial?
Will have a play on the way home from the airport at 2am. frown

Slightly different as mine's a B8, but the OE fitment Conti's at the front lasted 11K. I put new Goodyears on the rear and swapped the rear Contis to the front. They were replaced at 17K.

Now on 27K and the Goodyear F1's still have about 3-4mm all round, so they definitely wear better then the Continentals. I certainly wouldn't bother replacing all tyres at the same time. Check the owner's manual, but I'm pretty sure it says ... "The use of tyres with varying degrees of wear will, however, not affect the four wheel drive transmission."

Being a sad individual who reads the manual, for my B9 S4 it says that all 4 tyres should be the same type, size and preferably the same tread pattern.

Will mixing the Goodyears and Contis on different axles cause any issues with handling/diff wear? I've only had mine a few months so when the time comes I guessed I would have to stick to the Contis unless replacing all 4 tyres.
They will have different rolling circumferences, so don’t mix them.

Given the tyres wear at different rates anyway why would it make a difference?
