All PM's replied to this morning. If you can't see the email, check your spam & security settings as it is a .ZIP file. If you are using a company email server you probably will not receive it.

Great! One thing to mention, some of you may find the camera icons a bit small so you can resize them by editing the downloaded categories.pc file on the SD card in Notepad++ and change all the 'zoomlevel=9' to 'zoomlevel=30' then save it. Nice larger and clearer icons!!
Also, you can edit the camera icons in MS Paint to add a more prominent yellow background colour if you want.

[Edit] If you have already installed it, then edit as above and install again. Although .WAV files are included, Audi MMI does not announce these camera (POI) positions, only Tom Tom, Garmin, etc do.

Did it copy or update direct from SD card? because mine doesn't seem to want to do so, I don't think it recognises the format?

You need to select which cameras you want (.CSV files) and corredponding icon in my Audi. You then convert them for download onto SD card. I can email the conversion if you want but it is over 5mb!

Ok chaps, had a few questions on how to load it so here goes..........

Firstly you will need an SD card slot on your PC, or a SD to USB reader plugged in with the SD card in it.

Make sure the SD card is empty and formatted. (Note the SD card root path when inserted i.e E:/, F:/ etc)

Make sure you have the latest copy of Java installed on your PC. https://java.com/en/download/ before proceeding below, as it will not work without it!

Also, make sure you know the path on your computer to the file list I emailed as you will need to select some of these files from the 'upload list' option button.

Ignore any .WAV files as these are not used.

1. Log into https://login.audi.com/login
2. Select Audi Connect option
3. Scroll across to MyAudi special destinations & select
4. Click on + Add Personal POI
5. Type in a POI name for the first file to include such as 'gatso.csv' and type in the POI name 'Speed Cameras - Gatso then select 'upload list button' and select the 'gatso.csv' file.
6. Select the gatso.bmp from the list in the 'select different icon'
7. Click 'Save' and it will appear in the download list.
8. Do the same as 4 -7 above for each other camera option you want and corresponding named icon.
9. When all the camera options you want are in the list then 'select all' so they are all checked in red.
10. Now select 'download' and the 'save as' to somewhere you can easily view and access the file. Desktop is best.
11. A new file will appear on your desktop called 'downloader************.jnlp
12. Click on this new file and a Java applet will run and open a box called 'Audi Connect Download Client'
13. Click the 'Run' button, this will then produce a box called 'choose destination folder'
14. Select the root of the SD card i.e E:/ and click open.
15. You will then be prompted to enter your MyAudi username and password, and when entered the converted files will be copied to the SD card.
16. When all files are copied, put the SD card into the MMI slot 1 or 2.
17. In Navigation options select 'Special Destinations' and then select SD slot 1 or 2 and then OK.
18. The POI speed cameras will then be copied into your MMI navigation system.

Advanced options:

Some may want the camera icons background colours to vary. Edit these in MS Paint before downloading. DO NOT change the size or file name/type. Just colour in and save. I used a yellow background.

The camera icons may appear small to some, so when downloaded onto the SD card select the file folder 'personalPOI/package/0/default and open the 'categories.pc' file in Notepad ++. Change all 'zoomlevel=9' entries to 'zoomlevel=30' and click save.

P.s Notepad ++ can be downloaded for free https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v7.3.3.html

Enjoy!! type

Not sure now if that will work as it may be coded by username on the MMI. Please see the 'how too' above.

Worth noting when I was trying to thee he Audi java app to copy to my SD card it kept failing with a checksum error. I had to select a c: drive folder and it worked. I then manually copied the files to SD card and it worked fine.

As dufflecoat rightly said, you can do this also and save the downloaded files for copying later onto an SD card if you don't yet have one, or have a SD reader/writer yet.

Hi. I did send it. PM me again and check your span settings.
Hi Ian - My car has just been delivered this morning and I just sent you a PM in the hope that you can send me the file through. I mentioned in my message I'm happy to receive a large file, but it needs to be the zipped version then that will be fine as well.
Very interested to see how this all works.

Hi All,
Just picked up a s5 sb Daytona grey on Friday so managed to beat the road tax increase.

Came from a SQ5 and I thought that was fast but this is way faster!!

Couple of annoying rattles But apart from that the car is great.

Has anyone else got a fan like rattle from the dash when started cold??

Updated from me after 200 miles.

My spec is a Sportback in Flat Black/Black with Virtual Cockpit, Flat Bottom Wheel and Privacy Glass.

Exterior:

  • Still lovely. Nothing to report
Interior:

  • Drivers seat looks like it will wear quick, getting in and out is already showing creasing.
  • Discovered CarPlay, which integrates quite well. You can get back to MMI easily enough, nice to send SMS on the move via voice
  • The voice commands on MMI really work, big leap forward in this technology recently. I might even use it now.
  • Silver trim is ridiculously easy to scuff mark, I dont wear watch or any jewellery and have a small scratch already.
  • LED lights are great, Auto High Beam is a big plus and works exceptionally well.
  • The lack of auto dipping near side mirror when in reverse is infuriating. Did I miss an option? I bet it was £700 or something with the folding mirrors. Can it be coded do we know?

Drivetrain:

  • Gearbox at low speeds, moving down from 3,2 and 2,1 in particular is mildly annoying and consistent with it.
  • Jury still out on Steering, need more enthusiastic driving to fairly review
  • Too many drive mode options, why do we need Efficiency ,Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Individual. Should be Efficiency, Comfort and Dynamic (which is then configurable). I spend most of my time flicking betwen them wondering what the difference is. BMW do this right, especially in the top end M Cars.
  • Discovered moving gearbox to S changes engine sound to Dynamic.
  • MPG over 200 miles of all Urban driving on my commute is 19.8.

I would pretty much agree with your comments, but would add the cornering lights at night are a nice touch. I ordered the carbon inlays (as mentioned a way back) as it was reported that the silver trim marks and dents really easy. One thing on the SB I would have liked is some sort of cill protection from passenger shoes when getting in and out.

One other niggle is that on the SB, you need to be carful with your keys in your pocket when within range (which is a fair distance) of the car as you may well find the boot wide open!!!

[Edit] IMO the VC 'traditional view' option is much better. Voice controlled Spotify (subscribe if you don't have it) on the move is great if you are a music lover.
