Crikey that's a big jump forward. Not bothered about sep plate myself, bet your excited now then smile
I am very excited - insurance policy on current car comes to an end early August so should come just in time for that unless I delay it or there are any delays on their side.

Bit disappointed as I still don't know what spec I will be receiving frown

If you know the build week then, you must have the order number?

In which case you should be able to check the MY yourself?

Login to your Audi, then from there go to

https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-api/services/...

Put your order number in and I'm sure it says on there?

Or have you literally been getting updates from the leasing company rather than your audi? Site?

My S4 is now at dealer. Killing me it arrived so early but I'm staying firm and not collecting until 1st September. Can be one of those wkers with a flashy car on new plate day.

Current lease's final payment is end of August and have no need or desire for two cars and two payments.

Asked the dealer if they can send me some pictures or a wee video biggrin

Wish mine was at the dealer...mine is still at the quality control stage, anyone got an idea how long QC takes?
What stage is everyone at?

Thanks, at the moment I only have the updates from the leasing company but I may be able to get those details from them shortly aswell.

Yeh it took a lot of willpower to say I will just wait. I did say to the broker at the time that I don't need it till 1st September so if they could time it for them.

Not exactly ecstatic that it will be sitting around a smelly dealer for 2.5 months also!

I decided to call Audi this morning to get an update from them on the status of my car.

They are telling me that it went into production this week and I should expect the car towards the end of July....Booooo!

I think I am going to believe the track instead which says the car is already at QC, which is where it has been since Thursday

It will be approximately a month before you see it if it is in QC now, but its a bit of a lottery. Could be three weeks, could be six weeks depending on what boat it goes on, what order they go onto the boat at Emden and what the situation is like at the port here. It really is a tedious process.

Thanks, the wait is killing me. I think I will feel better when the car has left the factory...it just feels like QC is taking a long time, but I am sure in the grand scheme of things a couple of days is nothing.

On the S5 thread there were all sorts of issues, stuck in QC for ages, forgotten about at Emden etc. So it leaving the factory is a good thing but that doesn't set a finite time for it to be on its way. Sorry I am just trying to persuade you to be not too ambitious with the timings, like I was when waiting for mine.

no need to apologise your experience is really helpful. think I am just going to have to relax for a few weeks and try to stop obsessing about things outside of my control (not easy). I am sure it will last about 2 hours before I go back to checking the tracker etc. even though i know it will only update once a day.

My car is out of QC which I think took approx 4 days. It is now on its way to Emden...now I get to start obsessively trying to track cargo ships as well. From what I understand I am looking for boats with "highway" in the title. Anyone have an idea how long it takes to get from the factory to Emden?

I guess I don't understand spending this amount of money on a car that still looks like a common blando rep-mobile.
Very constructive input.
The fact that it looks just like a diesel rep mobile, allowed my to park my 2014 Black Edition S4 everyday in the train station car park for the last three years, without it getting nicked.
I doubt, I would have had the same happy result with an RS4,

(and I came from a Forester Xten just like the op),

Been looking at these today as was thinking of buying one.

£51k car (£3.5k of options) i can get for £42k new.

Sorely tempted, but all you lease folks have me thinking now as well, esp as i already have an A4 Avant on lease til march!

Man maths suggests 16 week build time means i have the lease til October (ish) then find someone to take it off me for 6 months. The 6 months lease savings pays for 4 months of the S4 smile

Was supposed to flog my boxster and buy an C63 coupe for fun, but the idea of going back to 1 car and only having 1 car to insure etc - prob save one a few quid too.

If you lease you might be able to delay, at least until December, possibly until your current lease is up.

Trying to palm a lease off would be a bit hit and miss.

Just checked the youraudi tracker - no status update

so used the below link, With my 8 digit order number at the end https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-api/services/...

and I can see the car is status 38 = at Emden.

Order codes:

00 - Welcome
10 - Order Received
20 - Preperation
21 - Panel Shop
22 - Paint Shop
23 - Assembly
24 - Quality Control
30 - Your Audi has left Ingolstadt
38 - At Emden
39 - On the boat
40 - Ready for Transport to the dealer
60 - Left UK Port on the way to the dealer
70 - Arrived at dealer - Call to make your collection plans

I have seen mixed reports as to how long the car can be at Emden, but I am a naively optimistic. I have found that the vessel "city of oslo" (https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:727150/imo:9407677/mmsi:563835000/vessel:CITY%20OF%20OSLO) has just arrived in Emden and departs tomorrow for Grimsby, so in my head it is obviously going to be on this boat...I am sure in reality it will be at least a couple of days before it is on a boat
