The car has now moved to status 39 - On the boat

So hopefully not long now. it is either going to be on the Rockies Highway heading to Sheerness or the Weser Highway heading to Grimsby

I expect it won't get to the dealer until the middle of next week. So still got a little longer to wait....

Getting my money back this Tuesday :P

Good luck with yours, guys, I highly doubt you'll get the same issue I had. If anyone sees KW17KFG for sale (it will be) just make sure you ask the questions of the dealer.

Yes I saw your problem on Audi sport form, praying I don't get that on mine!!

What are you replacing it with?

Looking through the thread I can see you talking about a collection date but I can't see anything about experiencing problems subsequent to taking delivery; reading between the lines I'm guessing you've rejected the car for some reason so what was the problem? Disappointed for you as you started this thread and were obviously very much looking forward to getting the car....

Really not sure yet but it won't be a new car nor an Audi.

Gutted about your experience, I had actually seen your videos on YouTube already. Hope you get something else sorted.

Mine finally gets delivered tomorrow so will be checking for a steering wheel click...

That's a bit st.

My B8.5 S4 was problem free and apart from the gearbox was an adequate replacement for the Forester.

Its just a shame I only did 14k miles in three years as I commute by train.

For info, I enquired about maintenance Inc tyres on the s4, and they quoted 18.61 per month.

As it's a 9+23, that works out at 18.61 x 32, so a total of £595.52.

Checked on the Audi site and fixed price servicing should be 199 quid for the s4, and also checked if there are any stipulations when it comes to the tyre replacement, but was told as long as they are not remoulds, and are correct size and speed rating, I can put anything on there, so could comfortably get a set of tyres and a service for cheaper than the maintenance, so I'm not bothering.

Just thought I would let others know what I was quoted smile

Id be careful there. The BVRLA guide I believe states they have to be of the same quality, which is gauged by the tyre ratings (not subjective). You don't want to put some on to save £50 then get charged £120 for new ones.

You're sure? First, fixed price servicing won't apply as your car is under 3 years old.

Also, you'll need an inspection service at two years rather than just an oil service. (You could try returning the car early to avoid this.) Budget around £500 for that alone...

Tyres: Depending on mileage you might get away with 2 rather than 4, but no way should you put rubbish tyres on a car like this. Budget around £125 a corner.

My B8.5 S4 has cost very close to £800 over two years in tyres and servicing, and that includes a heavily discounted inspection service...

I thought the fixed price only applied after a certain age but thought it must have changed and couldn't be bothered looking it up!

I also agree, whats the point in having a car like this with rubbish tyres on it. When my S5 needs some tyres its having Michelins I think. I did at one point with my B8 S4 put Avons on it and they were quite good given they were half the price of the PS2s but I won't be doing it this time if I can avoid it.

Just going on what I've been emailed by them, which apparently is what the supplying dealer has confirmed.

I wouldn't put budget on for my own use, but as I will be probably be going through 1 set over the lease period, I don't want to put decent tyres on just before handing it back!!

Ah my mistake thanks for the heads up!

So you think it maybe worthwhile then?

First lease so trying to weigh everything up...

I found the OE Bridgestone's awful for tramlining and steering feel, so I changed the tyres on my B8.5 after 4000miles, to a set of Goodyear F1's, with the intention of throwing the originals back on at 3 years.

It wasn't until the car had gone, that I realised that id completely forgotten to swap them back on, but that was 10 weeks ago now and I have heard nothing since.

Edit: I wont say that the F1's are the best possible tyre, but they were just better than the OE 19in Bridgestones.
