The only satisfaction I will get from downgrading from the S5, even to something like a Cupra or Golf R is that it is cheaper. I'd happily go to an S4 next given they are the same car (make mine an Avant though)
I'd quite fancy the S5 sportback next time around.

They can't find the source of the rattle so keeping the car until tomorrow. Q2 heaven for another day frown
I love mine. I'd be fairly impartial between S4 Avant and S5 SB (i.e. price would be deciding factor). But would pay more for one of them two than a saloon/coupe because of the impracticality.

Car is in for checking the rattling. Got an Audi Q2 courtesy car...what a POS laugh

It's only when I sit and drive something else I realise what an excellent car the s4 is. I hope they have some great deals when my lease is up in 2 years time...or they will need to pry this out of my cold dead hands
Maybe spec a heated steering wheel next time?

Check the tracker today, they usually go into production the Thursday before the allocated build week. Mine was due to start this week, but had left the factory by Friday last week.

I ordered end of may and had mine end of July.

Don't put all your faith in the tracker, mine still says in transit biggrin the contact at the dealer had more detailed info than the tracker for mine.

Update on the rattle.

Car was at Audi for two days but they finally managed to locate and fix the rattle. It was due to a loose seal on the rear window which was replaced and seems to have solved the problem.

Good to hear it was an easy ( if hard to find) fix.
Let us know if the wind noise has died down as well.

Thanks!! Just checked now and it's jumped a few steps and now in 'Paint Shop'!

Better up the efforts on selling the current car before the new one arrives 😀

Don't know if anyone has noticed but there is an update out for the maps in the navigation. I was super excited because a new motorway was opened between me and Glasgow about 6 months ago and I've been driving in a field according to the navigation since I got the car.

But they don't seem to have included this new road layout in their updated map frown I should have known better than to expect as much when the Scotland map was stored under 'North England' in the downloads rolleyes

Had my S4 3months now and I've already done over 3k miles on it. It does everything for me perfectly.

Need to transfer my private plate to it soon, strange because on the paperwork I have from them they say don't hesitate to contact us for any queires yet they don't put a contact number on there. I'm assuming I just have to call VWFS?

My dash speaker (behind the screen) is tinny and very noticeable on motorway journeys so might get that looked into.

Anyone done any mods to their exhaust? I have a Remus on my other car and I do think this could do improving the sound.

Just a heads up, it's a 50 quid admin fee to assign the plate, then another 50 to put the old one back on at end of lease.

My Audi dealer said there was no charge so I took that at face value, then get a letter mentioning the charge from vwfs.

Money grabbing tts. If I had known, for the sake of a 2 year lease, I probably wouldn't have bothered

They don't charge to put the plate on at the start though if it is registered with your plate. i.e. I will only have to pay them to get the plate off the car.

Correct, but I was advised by the dealer and lease company that to prevent any delayed delivery, sort the plate after the car is collected.

Not impressed with that to be honest, as my preference wouldve obviously been to collect it with the plate already on it.

Complaining was a waste of my time. Live and learn eh.

I sent them my retention document once I knew the car was being built, so that they had it before the car was in the country so it wasn't going to hold anything up.

Sounds like the dealer and lease company couldn't be bothered with you, which isn't good. But its not VWFS's fault.

Thanks for letting me know, £50 does seem a little steep cause we'll have to pay it twice but I wanted to drive around a 17plate for a few months so I can't complain laugh

Now it make's admiral's £20 charge to update an insurance policy in line with a plate change seem a bit more reasonable.

I'd be on to the dealer asking them to honour what they told you.

The S4 Avant has now arrived earlier than expected in the U.K. so hoping only going to be a week or so now 😀

Now starting to look at insurance - any recommendations for which insurers have found to be most competitive for your S4/S5’s?

Appears rates vary a lot depending on age, where you live etc etc...some report a good deal with a certain insurer and others the reverse. Best to shop around.

I'm just about to sign up for an S4 Avant lease deal.. this thread has been very useful thanks! I'm going to go for the standard Brilliant Black and Black Leather and definitely the Virtual Cockpit but I'm mulling over whether to get the VC on it's own or as part of the Light & Vision Pack.. Can anyone comment on what the standard lights are like? Do you get LED rears and the sweeping indicators front and rear with the standard lights, albeit not as swanky as the Matrix LED's? For those with the Light & Vision Pack how do you find the Matrix LED's and what's the upgrading interior lighting like? Any comments most welcome as I'm hoping to finalise today.

I take it on the chin that Brilliant Black is going to be a bugger to keep clean.. Do any owners regret it?
