Thanks.

Along the lines of what I had suspected & probably part of a marketing campaign that's beyond my little mind - although I wonder because of the timing if this is connected to the RS4.

It's a huge reduction in price for the saloon, making it up to around £4.5K cheaper than the Avant over a 3 year lease. Do I really need that dog & if I do can I get a dog trailer for him or bill him for the difference ;-)

We bought one of these

The folding fabric kennel, not the dog.
Fits on the back seat of the saloon.

A folding fabric dog - now that could be useful...

Good idea, but our dog is a big bruiser that would have that devoured in seconds. Other than that he just cant help but dive into any muddy bog he can find, so no nappa leather for him!

You need an S4 saloon and a dogmobile.
How much is an eighth hand Kangoo nowadays?

Not that I could, but a treadmill would work a treat & I would be a good few £k up!

Who's idea was the mutt - Oh that's right, mine........ crazy, irritating & often filthy animal but I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you've paid over 50% of the installments you could VT your dog and lease a dachshund instead.

Current model is on lease & the hand back fees are excruciating - I'll consider getting a sausage at the end of this lease & probably go PCP so I can walk away early if it doesn't suit!

Just taken delivery of this:

First impressions: a lot more chuckable than my outgoing S8 (duh!), not quite as quick in a straight line, but more enjoyable to rev - makes a great throaty, growly sound. Steering rack seems slower which surprised me, but maybe I need to play with it and get used to it. Still find MMI baffling - it doesn't help it's another iteration of the version in the S8 (just when I was starting to get used to that one!)

The handbook seems somewhat generic (describes features of the A4 range, rather than the S4 specifically). So a quick question - my car is bog standard other than metallic paint. Is the fixed suspension on the standard S4 a midway compromise between comfort and sport of the sports adaptive damping suspension?

So into my third week of ownership now and absolutely loving the S4 Avant. Car is fairly stock, solid black, black styling and light and vision pack.

I was looking at upgrading to some 20 inch OEM alloys. Anyone done this yet and what width, ET and tyres are you running? Seen some Audi TT wheels slightly high on the ET (52), but could run with spacers.

I have 20" x 10" TSW Bathurst wheels fitted and they look awesome (S5 B9 Sportback). Never found an OEM set that I liked.

They look good. What’s the spec of the wheels and tyres?

Boring news.
Managed 39.4 mpg on a Sunday night schlep to a distant airport ( over 150 miles)
Steady 70-72 mph, just had some weight in the day before ( garden centre for some mud compost)so the tyres were pumped up to 40psi
Managed to restrain myself to a couple of blips to join traffic in a faster lane.

Went out the day before on the country lanes near us and managed high teens though biggrin

Sorry for the bad pic but here’s mine. Very pleased with it so far. Interior and tech are great, the noise of the V6 is loud enough for me and i’m glad I went for the upgraded alloys. Black’s a bugger to keep clean though and I’ve already managed to scratch it in two places scrubbing off bird muck!

Very nice , did you opt for privacy glass on the rear ?

Took delivery of my saloon about 3 weeks ago - really pleased with it so far.

Not been out of Dynamic mode yet which probably explains why I'm achieving nowhere near the 30mpg showing in one of the pictures posted in this thread.. laugh

One poor quality image - still waiting for the rain to stop to get a decent photo opportunity !

My Navarra blue seems quite soft. I cleaned off some muck and it left a swirl behind. Nothing a bit of Mer polish couldn't immediately fix but it does mean being extra careful.

Mines solid black and was left in a right state after the dealer decided to wash it (requested it wasn't). It was due a treatment from the detailer and need about 2 days polishing to correct which Audi footed the bill for. However, a few detailers have commented on the solid black paint being quite "soft" as in it will mark easily compared to pearlescent.

Certainly did - I think it looks good against the black of the paintwork.
