What modes are you both running on? 4 is the max for normal fuel isn't it IIRC? If I had a spare £649 I'd be tempted!

Will this damage the engine ? 15 k miles a year ( 3 years deal) I don't really care about the fuel consumption smile

4 or less is best for fuel consumption. I am running on 6 same as mrjw88 for best performance and not worrying about fuel consumption. TBH, I've given up bothering about it and just enjoying the performance instead.

I had one (RaceChip Pro) on a new leased SLK running on max setting for 40k miles with not a single issue. I don't think the TDI one will be any different in that respect.

A few things I've found out over the last week playing about with the car.

1. You can set the memory buttons to do anything, not just radio stations, call people etc, just do what you want on the MMI, then hold down the button you want it to be for a few seconds.

2. On the memory buttons, when you sit your finger on them, a display on the MMI screen comes up showing you what button your touching and what each button is set to.

3. You can close the boot (sportback) by holding the button on the drivers door

4. There is also a button on the drivers door you can press as you leave that deactivates the internal alarm sensor, for dogs, kids etc.

5. You can get Streetview. When you drag your MMI pad to a new destination, the yellow man appears, push the pad to the right, scroll down to "Streetview" and there it is, you can then use the pad to go up and down the street and look up or down, the same way you would on a PC.

6. It plays DVDs! Stick in Lethal Weapon 2* to the CD slot, and low and behold, lethal weapon 2* is on in your car! (*other DVDs are available)

7. There are "curry hooks" either side of the boot.

That's it for the moment...
Things i've found out:

1) The boot doesn't close for me whilst holding the button.

2) An Audi S5 2017 is much quicker than a 997 4s from a standing start. @70 was 4 car lengths ahead.

3) Everyone wants to race you and I can't help but race........ :|

But you need to be on the jungle juice for that setting, right?

Its quite pleasing knowing this 'sleeper' car if you can call it that manages to surprise people and even more so with a tuning box! Anyone know of any companies releasing exhausts I would be extremely tempted

Yep, on 99......But like I said, the cost in fuel is worth every penny. Dam thing is now in RS5 territory. You'll be gobsmacked at the difference.

The price isn't the issue it's availability. I don't drive past a station on a regular basis that sells 99 stuff unless I go out of my way to get it.

Easily solved then. You can run on standard with settings 1-4, so when you have the chance to fill up with 99 you can switch to 6.

MTM seem to have a whole package but I can only find the map on their website. Not sure if one of their exhausts are in this video but it's much more meaty https://youtu.be/WD1i1VCJVz4

Miltek are also working on an exhaust but it hasn't been released yet.

So guys here is my intial thoughts on the TDI Tuning Box.

Drove down to the Manchester Branch and was greeted by the two guys who work there. First off service there was fantastic two nice guys who know what they were talking about.

Installation took less than ten minutes and it was a very neat clean job. Answered any questions and queries I had.

Now onto the Box. I tried it in default mode 4 and it was considerably quicker. I then switched to mode 7 and dear lord. The mid range it was so much punchier and stronger.

The car sounds reasonably louder the pops and crackles still sound the same but the engine note appears to be more aggressive under load.

I believe in mode 7 it is around 408-410bhp and to be honest i feel this is how the car should have come out the factory!

Also the launch control is now brutal! I would be very interested to know the 0-60 times. I believe standard is 4.4 however i am sure this could now be as low as 4.1 or 4 seconds flat for those of you who are interested in that!

I am now running the car in mode 6 as i feel this offers the best balance and feel. Mode 7 is ridiculously quick but it feels more poised in mode 6.

I will post some further thoughts once I have driven it more as its only been a day. Overall thoughts, Well worth the money and i would be shocked if anyone was not blown away by it.

Was it still 649 even though you went down and had it installed?

Can we stop talking about the tdi tuning box please? I get my bonus on the last day of the month and my mrs expects to have some flights booked soon after. Those flights are current at risk!
Tell her you'll get there quicker in the S5 with a TDI tuning box installed.....BTW, the car sounds great now with a TDI TUNING BOX!!!! biglaughbiglaugh
I've been trying to find the flights cheaper all weekend and plan on booking a cheaper hotel. Plus sold the PS4 on eBay for 200 quid so the man maths are beginning to make sense!

Anyone care to make some good quality videos of the noise at the various settings and how it sounds as standard? It'd be an interesting comparison.

It was yes, if you are local i would recommend going to get it fitted. Interesting speaking to the guys as they are clearly passionate about the product and can answer any questions
