I did give this a quick try recently but struggled to disconnect easily and i didn't want to damage anything so gave up pretty quickly.
Do you have to push down from top and pull apart at same time to disconnect?
Also, granted i know nothing about exhaust mods does anyone know if using 4 pipes permanently would mean more petrol is consumed or its same as 2 just less pressure?
Thanks in advance
They are a tight fit, but you just need to press down hard on the rear of the clip and pull. The S5 has two exhaust pipes (3 cyl each) so both are still being used only muffled. The 4 pipe tail boxes are for looks, sportier sound, and valve control, so I would think that it would make no difference to fuel consumption.Do you have to push down from top and pull apart at same time to disconnect?

Here is a pic of where to locate them.............What I don't understand from this is if the car has to be stationary to remove the connector, so it's below 40mph, so the valve is closed.
The implication is you need to be doing more than 40mph and remove the cable on the move to ensure they're open.
When I sit in the car at idle flipping between D and S gives a distinct noise change so that does something, I don't personally buy the 40mph 'extra' noise, and if it did exist it doesn't sound like unplugging would help in that respect.
I'm happy to be proved wrong, so will naturally give it a try to settle my curiosity!

The valves are fully open when the engine is off. They fluctuate when the engine is running depending on speed/RPM. When disconnected they remain fully open. It does work, honestly! The implication is you need to be doing more than 40mph and remove the cable on the move to ensure they're open.

When disconnected, rev the car and hear the difference.

Hello
Found a strange issue with the car, it always use to shift all the way to 6th quite quickly, around 30mph or so the car would shift in to 6th (Non Sport mode)
I've been driving more enthusiastically recently and have now noticed the car holds onto gear longer (not quite as long as S mode), it's very noticeable, it now will only go to 5th gear at 30 mph or so. Anyone else experience this?
I assume the tranny software has learnt my driving style I suspect and is a little more aggressive in changes now, is there a way to reset this?
Cheers

Just drove a few miles with out booting it and it now has settled back down, seems to adapt to your driving style.
How are the guys with the tuning boxes holding up? How much a difference over stock mid range and top end?
A lot of difference bottom, mid, & top. A great investment if you want B8 RS5 style performance (400HP+) at a fraction of the cost. I also disconnected the two exhaust valves, and it sounds much better now also (and as it should have done in stock). Done 2.5k miles with the box installed & no issues at all.How are the guys with the tuning boxes holding up? How much a difference over stock mid range and top end?

What sort of torque do you guesstimate it has now? I've done the exhaust mod too and it sounds so much nicer Very tempted with the tuning box, done 2k miles in the car now.
