No nothing other than 1 error to clear. Very minor in the scheme of things.

The clearing of it is my concern as I have nothing to do it with but am tempted to do the mod.

It is definitely worth it for zero cost! Also, some of the pipe trims are not so heavily 'sooted' at the ends now.

I have done the mod, was far from a two minute job though they are an absolute sod to reach aren't they! And making sure you're getting the insulation tape over the plugs on the valves is awkward too.

At least the error isn't visible on the dash (unless it takes a while to realise having only driven 100 yards since doing it). If I get them plugged in before it goes to Audi I could plead ignorance about it couldn't I?

It is noticeably louder though which is great

Thought you'd like it. No dash errors, only the one to clear as mentioned.

Hey guys, been following this thread since its incarnation with anticipation - should be receiving my S5 soon as it's sat at Emden waiting to come over.

The exhuast mod has really intrigued me, I just have a few questions if anyone can help:

How did you guys secure the connections after, does anyone have a picture which would be much appreciated.

Has it affected your MPG - I ask this because I got the exhaust valves permanently opened on my 2016 facelift S3 and the consumption went through the roof so had to get them set back to normal on VCDS

Does the exhaust pop and crackle all the time now? Or is this still dependent on the driving modes?

Finally has anyone given the DTUK box a try? I've used them before for a B Class, 320d and Golf GTD - they were okay, messed up the injectors on the B Class and GTD which had to be changed under warranty though but I note that they have S4 on their fleet which they have been testing with. The big downside with them is that you can't exchange your box for when you get a new car but you can with TDI-Tuning.

Hope you guys can help, look forward to posting a lot more now!

In answer to your questions, i just wrapped all parts with insulation tape.
I have only done a handful of miles since doing this, so I can't confirm impact on mpg although it's prob worse as i want to hear sound even more now smile
Mine doesn't appear to add pop & crackles just by opening valves.
I had to sell my DTUK box as like you said it couldn't be transferred to S5, so when i do get a box it won't be from them.

See TDI Tuning chart below.

Thought torque would be more than that.

DTUK have there own box fitted to their S4 which gives you 460 lb ft!

https://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/vehicle-audi_...

Anyone have any experience with DTUK boxes.

More torque but less HP if chart is accurate.
Now if we can get 2 members with a TDI tuning box & DTUK box and do real road tests that would be fun.

jabawdy, the reason your box cant be used on the new S5 is beyond anyones control. This is due to the fact that Audi/Porsche/VW have started using digital (SENT) sensors on some of their engine including the latest S5. I think you'll find that even TDI Tunings (non SENT) modules cant be re-used on SENT applications and vice versa.

We do offer additional discounts on the SENT modules to existing customers, and as someone has mentioned we have our own S4 on fleet that has been used to develop the system. Ive been running that vehicle for 3 months, and my only complaint is that its too darn smooth and its too easy to reach "silly speeds"

Learn something new everyday. How much is the s4 box or how much will it be once released?

the kit is released Now Ollie, our S4 is heading back this next week and is being replaced with an S4 avant.

Ive been recording 0-60 times with "Dynolicios" recently and consistently seeing 3.7-3.8 0-60 times even with ambient temps of 25+ degrees.

The module is discounted to 599 inc vat plus 6.95 shipping online, but if anyone is interested we could look at sorting some kind of additional discount for S4/S5/SQ5 owners

fitting instructions are available via this link

Glad I was sat down then! biggrin

Are you not DTUK then? After I asked the question I googled DTUK and it shows as being 199 Inc vat on the website?...

You run an alternative then?

Ah ok, more to learn then.

I've had remapped turbo cars previously but what's the difference between the pedal box and tuning box, besides price, as they obviously both increase power?

Just had a browse on the site again but couldn't see a comparison, though I may be a bit blind ! smile

I think you would have some definate interest if you offered a forum discount and created a bigger gap between yourselves and TDI - I think people venture to TDI because they can fit it for you in a few locations as opposed to doing it yourself regardless how simple it may be. They also offer try before you buy there and then.

We have agents that can fit the module for £649 which matches the cost of the TDI module, our system has 5 years warranty (an additional cost from TDI), we offer 6 months 0% finance option included in cost of £599 via our website for anyone me willing to spend ten minutes to install the kit themselves. We also offer a try before you buy option depending on location.

If you use the discount code AP80 the total price when bought online is £575.95. This excludes the 0% finance but does include installation at home or at our HQ

The pedalbox+ simply shortens throttle response, it doesn't add any additional peak HP or torque figures

Bit confusing then, I put in the car details, comes up with improved performance figures, then when you click on the prices button, it only shows the one variant which is the 199 quid one...

Nevermind, thanks for the info

The exhaust mod is good IMO. Doesn't affect fuel as far as I can tell, and seems more natural with respect to the way the sound is delivered rather than it being speed/rev specific. Doesn't make the car louder just makes the volume more consistent
