Possibly slightly controversial on here but i'm thinking about fitting 12mm spacers all round to give it a bit more of a purposeful look and stance, any thoughts or has anyone done it, think it cost around £200 for a TPI kit including new longer bolts from Motech ???

I would have gone with that had I have not swapped the wheels. You will need to think about adding some small front and rear paintwork protectors as the extended tyre width will potentially throw up stones and pot mark the front wing & doors, as well as the lower part of the rear bumper.

I bought some carbon fibre ones that were for a MB C class, but seem to fit ok.

Got the GT100 (4") tips in titanium. Yes the car is leased, but I'm going to purchase it at the end in 2 years time. Have a good arrangement with my neighbour who is the Audi/VW UK finance manager which is very handy. Yes, spent a few quid on it...about 6k so far so really must stop it!!
Nice I like the titaniums
Thanks. Couldn't decide on those or the black ones, but I'm happy with them. BTW, the system is an absolute b*******d to fit, took 2 guys 6 hours in an exhaust center. The new down pipes bolts are above the gearbox with just inches of room to get a spanner on with the rear of the engine close to the bulkhead, plus you have to remove all the bracing bars and panels underneath as well.
So - how does it sound???
IMO like it should. It is truly awesome, not obnoxiously loud though. I would record it but you never hear the 'true' sound, even on the promo videos. It even now puts a standard B9 RS5 to shame. I was vey dubious before buying it thinking OMG have I made an expensive mistake, but it was money very well spent. Get positive looks and comments all the time, which actually is getting a bit tedious now.
Did you pay 2400 inc the titanium tips?
Found a different supplier in the end and paid £2009.00 including the titanium tips, and then got an exhaust specialist chap I know to fit it for £100.00. thumbup
So Demon Tweeks gave me a quote of £1,954 with polished tips for a Catback non res system. Full system was £3,200 inc down pipe and sports cat which is far too expensive for what im looking for.
Tempted to go for it at £1,954 as this would include free fitting at a place in north wales only 45 mins from me. Would take it interest free over 4 years so its just 195 outlay now with 37 a month. When the lease goes back sell the exhaust to cover most of the finance left and might have to throw a few hundred in myself.
Its a lot dont get me wrong but when the S5 goes back its something very basic next so i can fund a new kitchen so i want to enjoy this as much as possible for the next 18 months.

Question though - does it drone at motorway speeds or at a certain point in the rev range?

No, no drone at all. That's a good price you got, what size are the tips? ask to leave the valves unplugged at first and see what you think, if it is too loud for you then just plug them back in. The best bit.......when its fitted and you start it for the very first time (better with a cold start) and give the throttle some serious welly, and the sound is almost orgasmic!!

Cool same but different tips.
Just need to figure out how i get the old exhaust back home once fitted - would the old exhaust fit in an estate or would i need a van?
(Not sure how many pieces it breaks down into)
I have a converted garage i can store it in for the rest of the lease so thats at least a non issue.

The exhaust will just about fit into the sportback I recon with the passenger seat all the way back, and the rear seats down so the tail pipes are at the rear but probably not the coupe. It will deffo fit in an estate car.

The two rear boxes & 4 trims, center box up to the down pipe connection are all one piece. The two down pipes are completely separate.

Well ive gone completely against common sense and ordered the exhaust. Hopefully ill be able to flog it in 18 months time for about half the price.
Any more pics of yours or a vid clip would be great. I know it wont give the full effect but might reassure me ive not dropped a bk here haha

Juat had confirmation it will be 6-8 weeks until the exhaust is delivered. Seems a very long wait.

You wont regret it, trust me. I have pics and a (crappy) video on the Audi Sport site.

The pics help - those pipes are epic big but no too big. Video doesnt work but the pics give me some comfort ive done the right thing. Is it a notable difference in sound? What i mean is it the same sound but louder it does it make it a deeper sound etc.

The pics help - those pipes are epic big but no too big. Video doesnt work but the pics give me some comfort ive done the right thing. Is it a notable difference in sound? What i mean is it the same sound but louder it does it make it a deeper sound etc.
The sound difference is like 'chalk & cheese' It is louder and much deeper in tone....more like a V8 sound, and similar to the C63S sound but not quite as load as that. You definitely here the pops & crackles more that's for sure. You will turn heads before they even spotted you without a doubt.

[edit] check this link out. My video is rubbish as I used an iPhone and the noise cuts the sound out a bit. Gives you an idea though and does sound much, much better in real life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq18TFryWBU

Well ive gone completely against common sense and ordered the exhaust. Hopefully ill be able to flog it in 18 months time for about half the price.
Any more pics of yours or a vid clip would be great. I know it wont give the full effect but might reassure me ive not dropped a bk here haha

Are you two trying to upset Big Al. ?

On another note my main beam assist didn’t work this morning. Frosty/dirty sensor?

Main beam assist does seem susceptible to cold weather on mine, I think its if there is frost in front of the sensor.

Yes agree. Happened to me until I scrapped the frost off.

So on the milltek do the original valves swap over and operate in the same way ie one exhaust working on start up, full noise only on dynamic in soprt mode etc
