Interestingly the hire contract only said 7 days... I assume (hope?) VW will be renewing the hire on a weekly basis.
What about the good fellas that went through a leasing company?
I'll be able to comment on this tomorrow when i find out what the dealer is offering

First I've heard of this DSG delay.... without looking through the whole thread - what is the actual issue?

I have had a white GTI DSG on order since 7th April. Was recently given an unconfirmed build date of this week however I have just got my SLI number and the app shows no confirmed build date.

The delay actually works well for me as my Octavia is on lease until October anyway. The lease broker (central UK) refused to delay delivery until October and said it would be delivered in June/July.

I ordered mine on the 5th april, today told I'll be lucky to see it until the end of September.
Something to do with a delay on parts for dsg boxes.

hi all, my 1st time posting on a forum. i couldn't help myself after reading all the posts re the 7.5.

anyway i'm hoping to take delivery of my gti next week. ordered 1st week of April with build week 15/05. Feeling anxious about the rubin black as ive read alot of mixed reviews and i have still not seen one in flesh.

Well I got it today!!! Cannot be happier with the car and the colour! I was slightly worried with the 'rubin' black but it looks lovely in my opinion.

Colour definitely looks nicer in your shots than how everyone has been describing it.

I must admit I do like the GTI lights with the red running through it - its a really nice touch.

Better than the r I have which has silver and just really blends in.

I know some of you have had a incredibly long wait (and will be waiting for longer) - but a mate of mine has the 7 gti (not 7.5) and it is a very nice car.

Seriously under rated the GTI in my opinion - I have a r - and rarely will I be able to use all the performance, the GTI could be the sweet spot of the range in my opinion.

Those of you that are getting courtesy cars, have you had your build week confirmed and if so when is it?

I have just had my agreement from VWFS sent through by the dealer as the car is nearly ready for delivery, included is a monthly price for Sevicing, Maintenance and tyres. Have any of you guys taken the maintenance option as it seem reasonable?

Did you order through a broker?

I did and I've been told no hire car, looks like I'm cancelling my order.

Main dealer.

Hire car was delivered and left without me being home!?!?!
It's a dented wreck and no damage whatsoever is reported on the forms they've left.

Oh yeah .... it's a Kia Cee'd Estate ........

We were told that a Golf was reserved.
Not impressed and it's going back !!

Is that from Sinclair VW in Splott? I had rubbish service there from warranty dept a few months back, hence why i went through a broker. My experience with them was almost enough to put me off VW altogether TBH.

Good luck and giv'um hell!

A colleagues husband has just retired from the Polis. He was a specialist in the Sex Offendors team. They drove about in a Kia Ceed (can you guess where this is going?) they re named it the Kia Pead
