The Indium GTi looks great which is good as that is what I ordered!! More pics please as it's going to be a while until my car turns up.

do the bridgestones last 10k on the front? I was planning on changing front to back after a year, is this too ambitious?!

They'll last 10k if you're doing mainly motorway driving, but otherwise the answer is no!

You should hope they don't. Far better to ditch asap & fit an alternative.. I'm hoping mine die quite quickly so I can replace with PS4s or PSS, but seem to be hardier than I would like mad. Cheaper, nasty & far too hard wearing it seems.

Normally I'd be happy, but.....

If you swap front to rear to balance the wear, then I am on 22,000 miles (RE050)

I recently replaced the p zero's that came on mine with PS4's, night and day.

The PS4's are brilliant. Obviously the old p zeros were life expired, but I don't remember them ever being up to the standard for the PS4's

On my 'R' I had about 16k on the supplied Bridgestone Potenzas and changed them to PS4s with about 3mm still left, all around. Might be different with a FWD only car though and I had rotated them at 8k miles.

The PS4 is a much better tyre in all respects than the Potenza, it is superb. I could have had probably another 2000 miles on the Bridgestones before having to change but don't regret replacing them 'early' at all.

Yes! Checked on Saturday and it has advanced to stage 5, so is on it's way. Missed out stage 4 altogether. Strangely I've had none of the text or email updates that I signed up for. They've worked perfectly for the last two VWs I've had, but not this time.

We didn't get any texts or emails. When my wife turned her phone on first thing in the morning she got a notification from the 'My VW' app to say 'Your car has been built and is now in transit'.

Anyone who was given a loan car heard anything about their golf? Happily wafting round in our free Touareg.

Have been informed that our Golf has arrived in the UK. It is awaiting clearance and transportation to the dealership.
Handover will 'probably' be in September.

Thanks - seems ours is being built in late September. So I guess we may see it in late October.

Has anyone noticed a creaking sound when driving their GTI, especially under heavy acceleration or driving at an angle e.g. Up a steep driveway?

I didn't notice this for the first 600 or so miles, but now I'm consistently hearing it (currently at 1200 miles), it's fairly subtle and sounds like the the all the door plastics are being flexed. I don't remember this with my previous MK7 GTD.

Other than this, car drives fantastically and I'm getting very close to 40mpg average over my 20 mile each way commutes. I do use ECO mode as it allows the DSG to coast in neutral which is excellent when approaching roundabouts etc if you plan it correctly.

Hi all,

I'm fearing I've missed the last of the great Golf GTI deals.

I'm looking for a DSG 3 or 5dr with preferably a low deposit.

The best I can find that suits me is 3+23 at £282.43...
Initial £847.30
£299.99 admin fee
10k miles

That's with lease comparison ltd.

Anyone seen anything better before I pull the trigger?

It's possible to get a 5dr DSG Cupra for that with a one month initial and no admin fee.

I suspect that's a typo and there are 23 payments? If so it's more expensive by some margin than the Seat Warrington 1+23 at £249. If there are doing the estate/dsg at this price, it might become a better deal. There are no contact details.
