My car has asked for an Oil Service (13months and 6500miles) - VW want £185!

This sound right, sounds like a lot to me.
I had my leased Golf R services before it want back at approx 16k miles. There was a huge difference between dealers with prices ranging from £146 all inclusive to £240.I went with the £146 which included a loan car for the day.

This seems expensive compared to what others were paying at the beginning of this thread. I'm new to this way of buying cars so I might be missing something, anyone know of any good offers currently?

Hi all!

I'm new here to the forum, so please be gentle smile

Think i'm about to commit to my first ever lease car, and think I've found the best deal I can find but just want to check with anyone that may have a little more knowledge in the world of leasing.
Some may think I'm mad at looking into a Gti considering my relatively high annual mileage, but it's a car i've wanted for a while now, and being in my mid 20's, pretty decent career, and no family commitments, I'm in that mindset of, "if I don't do it now, I might never do it!"
Naturally though, I'm still out the best deal I can get.

Golf Gti Performance DSG 5dr

Following added options: Tornado Red, and Rear View Camera.

Term: 24 months
Payment profile: 12 + 23 months
Annual mileage: 20,000
Road Tax: Included
Initial Rental : 12 months (£3771.96)
Monthly payment: £314.33
Excess mileage: 14.4p per mile

Processing fee: £198.00
(All figures are inclusive of VAT)

Managed to find the non-performance model @ £317.77 a month (same terms as above), which made me think this deal for the Performance model was pretty good!

Any advice though would be greatly appreciated!

Seems like a lot of money for that car but if you're happy with the price, crack on..

It certainly a lot better than you’d get with PCP, but it’s still 34% of the value of the car. Realistically you’re never going to get an amazing deal with that sort of annual mileage.

Doesn’t sound bad for that many miles

Thanks for the replies!

Yehh, the mileage is something that was always going to make it seem more expensive than other deals for me, but unfortunately not something I can get away from currently.

Guess I was just after a bit of assurance that the deal isn't too bad considering the mileage. Just wish I could consult the crystal ball to know what's available next month, haha!

The fact that the Performance model is currently cheaper that the standard one (which is currently "on offer" at Nationwide Vehicle Contracts) made me think it might be worth grabbing this before it's too late...

That actual pence per mile cost is pretty good. For instance I have a Golf R estate that is £318pm amortised, but only 5000 miles per annum. Pence per mile works out at 76p, whereas your deal is working out at 27p per mile. Viewed like that it could be construed as very good value for money!

Well it appears the deal was perhaps too good to be true after all....

Went ahead last Friday and filled out the online quotation form. Had a phone call yesterday to confirm the figures and if I was happy for the credit search to be carried out etc.
Email received this afternoon from the woman I dealt with at Nationwide indicating there had been an error on there website, and the figure they had received back from the finance company was nearer £350 a month (another £1200 or so over the 24 month term).
Being a broker though there was nothing they could do about it.

Needless to say, there website price got updated pretty quickly once they'd found out!

Bit gutted really. Guess I'll just keep an eye out over the next couple of months to see what comes up.

The best I have been able to find at the moment is at Nationwide Vehicle Contracts: https://www.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/Volks...

There may be better deals out there depending on the mileage and length you want so it would be worth taking a look on the Contact Hire and Leasing website: https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/personal/ca...

Unfortunately nothing available at the moment seems to close to the deals people were getting in this thread a year ago frown

Just had "the call" from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts saying that they can't fulfill our order (ordered 2 weeks ago) - as VW are not taking gti orders at the minute. Guessing this is to relieve their long lead times elsewhere...so, anyone expecting a gti via NVC might not want to get too excited.

Annoying as now in a position where getting a build before 1st September (current lease ends then) is going to be tight. Might roll the dice and see what's in stock come August.

Was it a manual or DSG that you ordered?
