The Golf GTI lease thread

Just had "the call" from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts saying that they can't fulfill our order (ordered 2 weeks ago) - as VW are not taking gti orders at the minute. Guessing this is to relieve their long lead times elsewhere...so, anyone expecting a gti via NVC might not want to get too excited.
Annoying as now in a position where getting a build before 1st September (current lease ends then) is going to be tight. Might roll the dice and see what's in stock come August.

Was a standard manual 5dr 230bhp (not the performance pack) - no options.
The 230 is EOL. VW confirmed you can only get the 245 PP (now standard) but will cost the same as before.Veodin said:

I don’t think so. All I have is the following from my order confirmation email exactly a month ago.
“Our supplier has advised that your vehicle has an estimated build date of 27/07/2018. Should this date change we will notify you by email.”
Get your order number and stick it in the order tracker. It will also enable you to talk to VW about it via Live Chat. “Our supplier has advised that your vehicle has an estimated build date of 27/07/2018. Should this date change we will notify you by email.”
With the arrival of my 1st child 4 weeks ago, I've thought about getting a bit sensible and selling my weekend car (E46 M3) and my wife's runabout, an old Toyota Auris, and leasing something. I've got a VW GTE company car for my daily drive.
I've been looking at the lease sites, and it seems the GTI (and for that matter the R) are available for very good money vs other cars? Due to the little one, I've looked at bigger cars, but still want to work on a budget of £250 - 300 pcm, and things like Qashqais, Tiguans, Tucsons, Sportages seem to lease in some cases for considerably more than a GTI or R.
Will the golf have enough space for a kiddy (or maybe 2 in future), my GTE boot is crap due to the fuel tank being underneath it?
You views on GTI vs the R ?
And I appreciate my drive won't be very diverse with 2 golfs on it, but diversity is not top of my list for the foreseeable, trying to get some sleep is

I have a 5dr Mk7.5 GTI, just over 12 months into a lease. Im no leasing expert but I think compared to the market a GTI is excellent value for money.
I have a 5 year old and he loves the car, overall its been great for family journeys.
I came from a 3dr mk5 and I was a little disappointed with the boot size in comparison but maybe thats the difference between 3-5doors. I imagine it would comfortably fit atleast 1 pram, it does swallow all our holiday luggage (2 smaller suitcases + rucksacks) with some determined packaging.

Hi
Am looking at a golf GTi lease deal. But can't seem to get close to some of the deals shown earlier in this thread. Best I can find works out at £8000 over a 24 month lease.
Am I better to wait till the new year?
Would I get any better deals then?
Cheers

So mine has acquired a stone chip. It's through to the bare metal. Do I get it matched by a dealer or though a third party?
BTW the car a properly sorted machine*. I'd have another one in a heartbeat.
*Except the stereo - which sounds like it has the loudness button permanently depressed.

New to forum please be gentle with me. I leased an A4 Audi Estate 1.4 sport almost 2 years ago. Lease up April 1st. It was a ridiculously low price 3+23 @ 220 Inc vat. Clearly not going to get as good deal this time round but as long as the price is close to depreciation on a new car its a no brainer in my opinion.
I have found a deal on Golf GTi, it looks about the best out there are the moment. Any thoughts?
I also have a question on the return of my Audi, do they hammer you on wear and tear? The wife has managed to kerb one of the wheels and wondered if worth getting sorted myself before returning.
