Drive select is definitely a nice to have as changes the engine note. Granted it is simulated noise but sounds nicer nonetheless.

From my experience maybe 30% of used cars have it as an option - not a deal breaker in my view

Drive Select is a small software change and a button (can be retrofitted).

Assuming no other associated options it will let you alter the weighting of the power steering, turn the exhaust noise on/off, and put the engine and gearbox in sport mode.

I like it as it means you can leave the exhaust noisy (I'm sad and quite like it) but is it a massive feature? No.

I missed selecting it (thought it was standard as the demo car I was given had it) but spoken to a few places and will have it retro fitted (controlled by the MMI Dial in the middle). No need for another button.

Great car, however Ive racked up 9 points in less than 12 months!! 10 years clear previous with many many more motorway miles per year.

Oh, and you can still change the "noise" from selecting SPORT mode from the gearlever. You just cant have a custom mode or eco!

If you want ECO go buy a 2 litre TDI though.

We see very few problems with SQ5s and sell lots of them. Brakes, tyres, and routine servicing.

Only you can decide that for yourself, one would hope you factored this in when you bought the car from an independent and not from Audi and one would hope the price you paid reflected not having the extra year's Audi Approved Used warranty. Dr G is a font of knowledge on all things Audi, so take heed of his words.

The OP only bought the car earlier this month and what looks like from an independent car dealer, therefore, no extra year's warranty as you would get from an approved used Audi.

Ah yeah - what a wombat I am! Thought the post I replied to wasnt from the OP - me not looking!!!! Thats seriously low miler for a 3 year old car so hopefully imaculate.

Id not bother with extended warranty but it comes down to personal preferences. The Audi Warranty is pretty comprehensive but expensive from what Ive seen. Id just use specialists if out of warranty.

Thanks Doc, It has warranty untill 21/7/17, had a health check at York Audi on Tuesday, mostly good, they told me it had been remapped , I said good thats saved me £200 ha ha, I thought it went well, The cars mint , all service history , full 2 tone leather, smart key, all keyless, full panroof, all black trim, debadged, TDI Quattro , Ive had lots of Audi,s this seems the fastest yet over the past cars A6, S6, (5.2) A8(4.2) A8 (3L)S5 (3L) It go,s very well,

If it's been remapped, an Audi warranty won't be available anyway.
I doubt any other warranty would cover it either, unless any issues were fixed by an independent who couldn't supply the warranty company with the TD1 flag in any data they requested.
The car will now be flagged with Audi as being TD1, which would repudiate any warranty claim via their Audi extended warranty.

Ive just got a 12 month warranty, (not Audi) I would take it to JJ Motors York, who are Good Audi Specialist,

How sure are they that its definately had a remap.

When I had mine delivered (new) from the dealer, the techies said to me it was the first one they had seen that had the upgraded engine power (326bhp) and it felt quicker than remapped older ones that they had driven.

Also said it felt the same as the Plus model (mine isnt) they were seeing and after having a bit of fun on my own private motorway stretch with one i can vouch for the performance match.

Just enjoy it - a mate asked me recently for some car help - X5 or an SQ5. I said both are great cars, both do their jobs amazingly but with the X5 after a few months you'll feel bored. He went with the SQ5 and keeps ringing me (3 months in) saying its his favourite car (travels LOTS of motorway miles) ever!

York Audi did full heath check, came back all good , They did 2 recalls airbag & aircon, Then as I was getting the Key back the service adviser asked if I was aware it had been remapped , She said future work may delete it from the ecu, Its a great car, Its a keeper , Bit to much swopping my private plate all the time ,
